Ok so a couple of things. First, I have a couple of plants doing really well on my very first grow,(or at least I think so..lol) but they are supposed to be the same strain, Blue Rhino. Yet one is like way darker green than the other, and it seems to be growing more compact, while the other seems to be stretching a lil??? Both are in the same exact soil mix. I don't understand this, can someone shed some light on this for me, like did someone eff up and send me some wrong seeds??? AND Second, I was topping both the girls tonight and damn I got a wiff of the cut stem, and it smelled like pure skunk!!!
Here's the ladies in question...Can they still both be the same??? And why?? I'm a n00b and really want to know..

And I take it the compact dark one is indica dom, and the stretchy light one the sativa dom? Man really I'm just learning here, but I can take it in pretty fast.

A pheno is different expressions. Like breeding dogs, you have 2 pitbulls and breed them, the puppies aren't all identical. They each receive different gene expression from their parents. Plants do the same. They can even have throw backs and resemble their grandparents, greatgrandparents etc.

I see, so it is possible for both of these to come from same stuff just different traits, hence the indica dom and the sativa dom. Ok thanx for clarifying that. Just a n00b trying to get it right, lol.

phenos are traits the plant can take on, being dominant or recessive... is why crossing, backcrossing, and other methods can be used to solidify (see: increase the odds of) traits you want, and effectively minimize/completely lock out (statistically) the ones you don't

Or, it could simply be the tall one is a male.........
I know you didn't want to hear that, but everybody says the males typically will grow a tad faster.

Keep it growing like you are... It's a great first one/two...
once they get to about 6-7 weeks, take a cutting/clone from both and put them into 12/12 and you can sex them/clones...
Then you can throw out the male if it is one...
Clone for sex is the way to tell, and soon...

Oh and by the way I've heard, that the tall 1 may be a sativa dom strain, and that's why it's streching more than my dark little girl that's an indica dom strain...what's your input?? I believe I heard that from althor, hiitsbob and figong..
