Ok guys So here it is I have 4 ladies vegging in 7 gal smarties in Vermifire soil under a 1000w hps. (was about to flower but they lost vigor). My symptoms are purple stems, yellowing and deformed new growth, small new leaves and overall Lime/yellowing from the top down. They have been in the 7 gals for about 3-4 weeks. I started noticing this problem about 2 weeks after transplant but did not feed because vermifire supposedly has plenty of nutes for a veg cycle. I ph to 6-6.5 every watering, temps have been a bit hot (80-85) for a week or 2, but I have now cooled the room to 76-78. What is wrong with my babies! I fed once with botanicare grow last watering thinking they were lacking N, but I now think they may be lacking P or K. It looks like they are definitely lacking a Macro Nute considering how yellow the new growth and whole plant is becoming. Any ideas guys?? I may feed next water with fox farms "grow big" since it has a 6-4-4 npk, just to cover all my basis. This doesn't look like PH prob to you guys does it? I don't want to exacerbate the problem with more food. (not my first rodeo here) Any advice appreciated thanks.

get someting like this and add to water ....go with 3/4 str u should a fixing self and go with full ...fallow the bottle

get a ph meter and double check the lvl in your soil to make sure it is not nutreint lock (soil 6.0/7.0)

or it could be Phosphorous def. common problem in veg

Eh, I'm not so sure about that. I live in an old mining town and there are plenty of minerals in the water you can taste em! I don't want to go adding more calcium to he water if I am not sure that is the problem. If anything I would think it would be too much cal/mg. I am leaning towards the lack of P. I am just a bit confused because I thought 7 gals of vermifire soil would last me at least 3-4 weeks in veg with just plain water.

They weren't mining uranium, were they? Seems over-watering + heat stress to me. I'd take precaution and use distilled water. Wait 3 days if u can, if not 2. I might take a thin layer off top of soil and replace with fresh soil in package or get fox farms. to throw on top before watering. Is my suggestion crazy? Maybe..but I'm just a beginner. I think that covers your bases- distilled water ur PH is fine. new soil, u know the plant will be getting some nutrients, and letting it dry out cause the thing looks over-watered. I really think throwing nutes in is a mistake, outside your regular feed cycle. I'd never trust the water in a mining town no matter how many minerals you think it will like, no offense.

I think thats a damn good idea. I agree with everything but the over watering. I water about once a week and wait till pots are 80% and pots are light. I guess I will wait 2-3 days throw some soil on top and give em distilled! Thanks man. Part of me wants to feed them one more time with a 6-4-4 to cover all the macros only because Last watering was the first time they ever got fed in 4 weeks.

I started noticing this problem about 2 weeks after transplant
And that's what caused this, a bad transplant and its struggling to deal with the shock. In future make sure its root bound ,healthy and be more careful.

A Bad transplant?? What are you talking about? That is the point of transplanting so your plant DOESN'T get root bound. Plants were perfectly healthy when transplanted, I was plenty careful.

So I believe you were right about the cal/mg deficency. I am now 2 weeks into flower and still dealing with this. I have fed twice with cal/mg at about 1 tsp/gal and have only noticed marginal improvments. I am thinking of upping the dosage somewhere closer to 1 TBS/gal just for a one tim corrective dose. I also have new plants and clones that have all started with the exact same problem. I do not understand, I just moved to the mountains and the water is not the same here at all. I have been told the ppm is about 230 and it is clean pure water. I guess I just need to add cal/mg with every watering?
