hello all. iv noticed a pattern of systematic yellowing and dying off of fan leaves, starting at the lower levels and climbing upwards. its not like anything iv ever seen before. the leaves are spotted with "death", meaning it has dead patches all over. the stems are a deep purple, and the affected leaf stems do not bend. they snap right away with any movement...im losing a lot of vegetation to this problem...im wondering if its a PH problem? please let me know if you have any questions...

BTW, all the leaves pictures were taken from 4 different plants and 3 different strains.

thanks

Don't sweat it bro, it's normal for the bottom leaves to start dying off when the plant flowers. Don't go trying to fix what ain't wrong. When you say you're losing "a lot" of leaves, what do you consider a lot? 5-10 leaves per plant or like 50% of the leaves per plant? As long as the rest of the plant is normal and your buds are growing, it will be fine. Once again, normal progression of things. Put up some pix of the whole plant so we can get a better idea of what you're up against.

yea, i think it might be over-ferting. i will do a nice flush today. only one plant is badly affected, with about 50% of leaf mass starting to show symptoms. the other ones have just a few leaves. should i flush all of them?

here are some pics of the plants...

they used to look a lot better, but i had some problems with PM, and the spray i used to kill it, also killed all of the hairs on my buds. its ok though, im told thats only a problem if i was planning on pollinating.

BRO! Your plants look great! Let me ask you a question. When you turned the lights back, naturally you changed ferts to something high in "P" Phosphorous(N-P-K) , correct? It might not be overfertilization, but lack of "N". It's normal for the bottom leaves to start to turn a little yellow in flower but people tend to get a little crazy with the Phosphorus when flowering and leave out the N and the K which the plant still needs, just in lower doses. This is something I copied a ways back. Don't remember who to give the credit to.
"A common mistake for growers when they reach the flowering stage is to start hitting the plants with a high P fert like 10-60-10, continuing to us this blend exclusively, and when their plants start experiencing a deficit of N or micros as reflected by the dropping of lower leaves and chlorosis, they wonder why. Plants flower as a response to long nights, not because of fert blends high in P. A ratio of 10-60-10 is wat too high in P. The plant will only take what it needs and compete for the other elements that may be MORE IMPORTANT at the time. You may have heard that too much N can inhibit flowering. No question about it, exclusive use of a plant food that is rich in N such as Blood Meal, a 5-1-1 blend, or ammonium nitrate may inhibit flowering especially if the Phosphorus level is low, but most balanced blends have sufficient amounts of P to do the job. Using a high P fert exclusively during flowering can actually work against you. It's an abundant amount of healthy leaves going into 12/12 that produces a lot of buds, not high P ferts."

thats exactly what i thought the problem was like 10 days ago! i started to notice yellowing, so i started adding high N ferts, and iv been using the high N ferts almost every watering now...so i think iv overdone it just a little bit...im just going to water with plain RO water for a few weeks and see if they straiten out...thanks for your kind words Antman, they are appreciated!!
