hey guys this is like 2 weeks into my lowryder #2 santa maria.. and something just started today on it..

looks like the leafs are rusting and the other two plants went from being a nice green color to being green/yellow and today pretty much bright yellow..

i gave them a TINY tiny bit of nutes.. also added some hydrogen peroxide.. or IS it my lights are gettingtoo close to them?

please let me know what you think it might be i dont wanna lose them.

the healthiest looking plant.. only like 2 inches tall?? turning yellow and little bit of rusting.

also i have 24/7 light on them.. has a bubbler in the tub and the water pump pumps water onto them 24/7 as well.. is it maby even drowning them

and wtf is this a mutant?

You have the beginning signs of Intervenial Chlorosis, in other words a MG defficiency...

Number one question you need to ask yourself...

Do I own a Digital PH Reader, are you adjusting your water to 5.8 PH.

Also you might want to rethink the tubing i noticed running above your res. looks like it is somewhat transparent, if these are carrying water they should be under the res lid. Light will cause major probs with the water.

PH yah i better change that.. only did a test like week or so ago and was around 6.3 the heat of the water can that cause anything? i moved the lights up yesterday.. and today they already grew like inch higher.. before that they didnt grow at all.

so you think its the PH causing the rust color? the rockwool yah its like jellyfrom the flow of the water on the rockwool. i will maby take that off once the plants start growing roots into the water??

only 3/5 have roots in the water and one of them is only like 1 mm into the water..

take the water pump out after they are into the water? or take off the hose to that plant??

ok guys, i changed my PH, i took out the Water pump washed off the rockwool. moved up the lights a little bit.. but look at my LEAFS?? rusting badly and the plant feels pretty crusty.. ive been misting it with tap water 1-2 times a day. fan blowing on it only a bit.

anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with it?

2 or 3 of my seedlings are starting to do this now.

also i got another question... i been germinating seeds in a paper towel then closing the lid in a tuppaware container.. then when i transplant the germinated seed into the rockwool cube and netpot.. i leave it in the tupaware container.. but after checking 2-3 days after the roots are like yellow/orange and just fall off soggy.. why are they dying.. never had this much trouble germinating a seed lol.

Woah i decided to stick my thermomitor over the plant quickly just to see the temp.. the room says 75.. but i got my CFL lights really close to my plants.. its reading 87 degrees is that whats causing all this? move my lights up?

is this probably why its been 2-3 weeks and my plants are still 3 inches haha will it stunt there growth as well?

Ok first of all you need to get that rock wool out of the water. Your drowning your plant in the RW because when it is saturated with water it gets no oxygen and the roots NEED lots of oxygen. You only need to give the rockwool a couple tablespoons of res water once a day. Cover the tops of the Rockwool so the light cannot get to it. Rockwool grows algae on top if it is exposed to light.

You should have some fertilizer in that water too.

Alright im going to let the water get below the net pots well its pretty much already below them. hope this helps... because ALL of my plants now are rusting.. even my brand new germinated onse with 2 leafs off the stick have a rust spot on them? some kind of disease or what..

here is the really bad one.. is it DONE for?

Here is my lowryder one.. the leaves curling and the bottom row is all rusting what is that from??

and my last one is Kush. also having the same problems as the lowryder one.. curling leafs and lower leafs turning rusty color whats wrong? my room temp? or lights to close or could it even be bugs?

Any info? thanks..

dude you should change your rez, give it water, get you some superthrive add some of that and some sensizyme, hydroguard ph it to 5.7 they should bounce back in about a week,at this point you only makeing matters worst by trying to guess what the problem is and doin this and that to them also you dont want them net cups sitting in water if that is a bubbleponics system you need to have like 3-4 inches from the bottom of the net cups to your rez water, the tubes are they feeding tubes? if so then are they need to be ran to the bottom of the rockwool cube, once your roots hits the rez water then take the pump out go get your self some mylar and cover the tops of your net cups to keep light off your cubes

ok one of the res was at PH 7.0 the one with the really bad looking plant.. the other res was at 5.5-6.0 so that shouldnt be the problem.

My leafs curl UPwards. on nearly all of the plants.. the water rez may be too high it touches the bottom of the netpots.. i was just going to let it use up the water till it gets lower or should i just take some out? will it make much differnce? all the plants are now rooted in the water so i took out the water feeding pump from both of the rez.

i still havent covered my rockwool up. i will do that later..

this is my first time growing so any info helps...

Grrr.. so new problems seem to be starting.. by the way i have this setup in my Furnace/laundry room.. wondering now if this could be causing this..

my ph level is fine. i have 24/7 lights on 7x 42 watt cfl's, and there about 6 inches above the plants and 2 fans blowing on them 24/7 a well. there in tubs with bubbles running 24/7

now today the leafs are starting to curl upwards alot.. and the bottom row of leafs are pretty much dead on all the plants. just kept rusting and rusting till they died.. also im misting them about 3-4 times a day..

here is 2 pics showing the curling leafs.. what might be wrong NOW??

or should i even be worried about them at all? this is my first grow and just want to figure everything out properly for the next time.

this second pic USED to be that mutant looking pic when i first posted.. seems its comming around beside the curling leafs now.

what light are you using and how close is it to the plants you could be burning your leaves if you have been mistin them 3/4 times a day

Right now it got 7 x 42 Watt CFL's plus a 48 inch flourecent with 2 40 watt tubes.. just measured the closest light and its 5.5 inches above the plant.

i have a 400w HPS after i start to flower... if they make it. no way i can flower them in that furnace room though it gets really hot every time it kicks in. like 85degrees.. right now the room says 75.. if i stick my thermometer ontop of the plant its reading about 78 degrees.

thanks.

What strength are your nutes?

Have you checked if they are feeding?
i.e. check the strength of the water a few times a day and see how quick they are using the feed up.

Or for a more uncomplicated approach empty your res. and start again with your nutes half the strength and make sure the ph is spot on. Don't increase the feed until your sure they are actually using it. And if your gonna keep misting then raise the light a little after until they aint so wet.

That said they are looking a lot better than they were so don't worry too much.

I had the same prob. weeks ago, first move your water lines uderneath the rockwool, this will give them just enough water. second check your ph daily,it is smart to ph in the morning and it should rise throughout the day. this will allow the plants to take in different levels of things it needs. ph is the most important.. third feed those babies, use a third of what the directions say.you also can foiler feed, use revive by advance nutients, use twice a day...you should notice a change in a day, usualy new growth really quick.. it would be your best interest to a constant ph, ppm, and temp meter, I bet your next prob. will root rot. keeping the tank cool is an all day thing.. I use water bottles that i freeze... I got about thirty of them in the freezer.. need to keep in low 60s.... good luck...
