Whats wrong with these buds?

I would have said the same thing over a year ago, but my opinion on that has changed (altered, slightly). Solid plants can come from stress herm'd plants. I have a number of them in my lineup now, no signs of instability, not a single banana thrown. Gorilla Glue, if the story is to be believed, is the result of a coupe stress germ situations, OG (definitely the multitude of phenos), Cookies, Chem, Bubba, are probably the result of the same.

Now, the magic isn't always present, rarely for that matter, so YMMV (the "banana dealer", that is).
Gotcha! I'll still skip them if I know they were from hermies (for further breeding)......But , yeah. I know what you mean.....I had a strain years ago that hermed a LOT. I found that about 1/4 of her seeds would not herm....but how do you tell till which ones till you pop a few?

Once I had one. I selfed it to see if she held stable.....funking most did but, some still hermed.....Left a bad taste in my mouth....clone fine! Into a breeding project.....I'll pass. Hmm, folks did still want the clones from her too.....She was nice! If I remember right Bubba was a stress strain. Chem - nope! Real Cookies was bred too.

Thanks everyone, im definitely taking this as a learning curve haha. this plant may be a little sorry but im learning so much from it.
The 24 hour dark period is almost over and ill start a strict 12/12 schedule (each night ill be putting it in a shed to get the 12 hrs of darkness)
Im hoping ill put all these "experiences" into practice with my next grow but that will be completely indoors and ill work on an outdoor grow next season.
Obviously ive put this plant outside way too early but lesson learnt.
I'll also be using pots 2-3 times the size of this one in future as thats been another issue.
I'll be looking at getting another tent over the next few weeks and dedicate it to flower.
The dr90 will be my veg tent.
What do you mean when you talk about a stable plant? is that just stable genetics rather than say bagseed?
Also if all goes bad and it does completely herm will the buds be good to use for extracts? just i wouldnt mind playing with that if its not worth smoking!
No, stability in how the plant is growing.....It's how "comfortable" it is so to speak or "healthiness" if you were.

Unstable plants will grow out leaf sets with less then 5 leaves to a "set".....Look at your pics. See the single leaf on a leaf stem?

this is an "unstable" plant.

Once they hit 5 per a stem, and do this in 2 consecutive new growth nodes (or more)....they're stable!

@Dr. Who I'm not referring to plant prone to herm'ing, but plants that were stressed, herm'd due to said stressor(s), resulting in seeds.

I do agree that plants with a predisposition to herm'ing/throwing bananas should be avoided (for the most part). My "Mystery" is finicky, but she is much better behaved now than when I got her.

Regarding Chem and Cookies. I haven't heard a reliable story regarding their origins, so I'm alleging that they're "illegitimate". Also, without "intimate" knowledge of their origins, there isn't any way to say for sure. Most would rather brag about their master breeding skills than admit to a grow room mishap. I could easily say that I bred all of the "M's", years of selective breeding culminating in these well thought out masterpieces. Truth is, bagseed, brought about by massive grow room mishap/orgy. :bigjoint:

I wouldn't gauge stability on 5 leaf sets, I have old school OG's and HPK that only toss 3, very stable. Only instability displayed was by the HPK, which threw bananas when exposed to 160,000 ppm of CO2 (regulator flow meter ruptured, full tank released). OG's held strong.

That's true to a point for some strains! Yo be right on that.....but dropping singles says unstable from light times or hot soil/high nutrient levels.

Oh ok thanks that makes more sense to me now :)
Up until im assuming the stress and reveg it was producing 5 sets per leaf, its only been the last few weeks that these odd ones have been coming up.
In saying that it was also throwing a lot of 3 blade leaves in the early days which i thought nothing of

How rare would u say to get a male seed from a hermie seed?

Pretty rare... I once got a male super bud ghs in a 10 pack of fem then ill be daned if i don drop some gsc hermie seeds and first one is male preflowers
