What's your favorite dispensary and why should that dispensary operate in every legal state?

Dispensary experiences and supply chains vary dramatically -- from huge outdoor grows and >100,000 sq ft warehouse grows, down to small batch craft buds; from shady street corners, to luxury retail spaces.

What's your favorite dispensary and why should that dispensary operate in every legal state? Perhaps you prefer that a boutique dispensary is like an Apple store.

Any insight is both welcomed and appreciated!

I never have a brand preference as it pertains to dispo's. Or weed, for that matter. Sure I've tried some of the hyped up stuff (Gary Payton was the BEES KNEES when it first dropped) but all in all, I only ever used dispo's for a quick grab-n-go on a medium budget

I will say this, of all the weed brands that I've tried, Grizzly peak was one of the most consistently bomb at a fair price. Trinity Reserve had a Peanut Butter Breath that legit got me hooked on that strain. They also have a "Burnt Rubber" that, to this day, eludes me & I cannot find any info on it to grow from seed or cut.

I wish i had a better answer to your original question, but, mainly, I just think there should be every level of meds available to every budget, in every state.

Hard to find good bud in Michigan in dispos. If you like cheap weed however then folks will probably enjoy the mitten state

What's your favorite dispensary's unique selling proposition -- what differentiates it from the dispensary down the street? Is it just cleaner? Do you feel safer? Does your preference have anything at all to do with the products? Do the bud tenders help you navigate through all the choices to find a strain with effects that best matches what you like, or is it just a guessing game? Do you frequent the dispensary with the best prices? Is it that the dispensary has too many or too few options? Does the dispensary showcase strains popular in your region, or perhaps they aim to highlight strains from Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, or Detroit? Is there a store theme that appeals to you? Maybe one dispensary only seems to hire tall blondes with perky tits? Why do you like the store so much? Does it appeal to you that a store is vertically integrated (growing its own products)?

If the dispensary you prefer to buy cannabis from opens up shop wherever you buy flower/concentrates, you win.

For example, I recall buying in a store in Colorado, that only allowed 2 people in at a time for security reasons -- seemed lame, actually seemed like we were being rushed in/out -- and that's not the type of dispensary I want to buy from.

I was just throwing out questions to keep the thread going -- I was hoping for a little more feedback than byob. By providing names of preferred dispensaries and why they're great, this thread may actually lead to you seeing more of that particular dispensary in legal states.

Most ppl here grow I’ve been to one dispensary like 3 times. Might have more luck in r/trees or similar

You are asking the wrong question. No one, I repeat, NO ONE gives a shit about the store. It is legal access to marijuana. When it was illegal, I would park my car in the worst part of okc, walk into a tiny house with a guy on the couch working triple beams, and a guy with an automatic rifle standing in front of the door to the bedroom storage area. So, whatever the store looks like is going to be a hell of a lot better situation. Move on. The store has nothing to do with why people buy there, unless one store has weed that works and the others have shitty weed.

Interesting take. Only ~25% of stores being profitable suggests stores may matter -- "stoners" (and I don't like the term) make up most of a store's return customers (I'm a relatively high-functioning adult and I've been smoking since I was 11). There's a need to reach broader demographics.

And, for example, California counties largely don't want storefronts in their communities, partly because of the perception of stores you so masterfully illustrated. Consequently, there are more licenses than stores. So, the fight continues. Sorry, not sorry. I'm still gathering facts. Stay awhile, learn something -- "move on" lol.

Not all stores are vertically integrated. Not all have/can have online ordering, delivery, drive thrus, curbside pickup, consumption lounges. Hello -- knock, knock -- anybody home??? Details matter.

Yes. There has to be more to it that I'm just not getting. The store is very important. That's why I choose the Ol' Git'N'Go over 7-11. When I purchase from the soda tenders there I know my sugary fizzy drink will be better quality. They make their own sodas. That's a better store than a store that buys sodas on the open market and resells them.

I'll focus on finding the best stores that either (1) are fortunate to operate within states/local laws allowing them to utilize multiple revenue stream generators like drive thrus and consumption lounges; or (the harder find) (2) have the misfortune of being well-run, vertically integrated stores that operate within states/local laws that don't allow them to utilize those multiple revenue stream generators.

Let me put it this way, are there any dispensaries you're aware of that offer a focused menu of strains providing a clear up/down high, followed by aesthetics/smell/flavor, instead of offering 100+ strains, many of which miss the mark on effects (flat v. clear up/down), followed by flavor/smell/appearance points? It seems, dispensaries with >100k sq ft grows brag about carrying 100+ strains; but having that many strains suggests to me that they don't have a focused menu and, consequently, a lot of their offerings probably won't bring a customer back for more.

So, if you are aware of a dispensary with a focused menu consisting of strains providing a clear up/down high -- that also taste/smell/look great -- please let me know.

I apologize if this question doesn't quiet pertain to the main topic but I needed to ask a question about dispensarys. From NY laws are not as strict where I am now. Need a good dispensary located southeast Missouri. Recommendations on saliva flower and prerolls. Just want to roll in and out

I hope Walmart will exchange its eye centers for bud centers.

I've always leaned towards those boutique-style dispensaries for their vibe and personalized service. They remind me of walking into an Apple store but for cannabis. It's all about the quality of their product and how knowledgeable and friendly the staff are, making sure you get exactly what you need.

Dispensaries are hype machines. They consist mostly of posers. Some of them might even believe their own hype. There are no special effects to getting high on weed. If it's good, ripe weed, then it tastes and smells good and you get stoned when you smoke it. All this "up" and "down" "couch lock" stuff is just BS. If the weed is no good, then you go through the motions of smoking it and you don't get stoned. That gets interpreted as an "up" or "cerebral" high...yeah, rrrrright. The weed isn't ripe, that's all. It might look sparkly....but the trichomes are clear. Or, you've got weed that's been sitting around and oxidizing and the trichomes are brown.....You get told that it's an Indica so it will be couch lock....but it's just old weed that has converted all its THC to CBN. The only differences are how it tastes and smells and most of the commercial strains lack in those areas.
But hey, some of the girl bud tenders are cute and flirty -like strippers.

You gotta learn how to grow your own if you really want to get at the good weed.
