when do i get to see purple?!?

a question..

BACKGROUND INFO: A 1/2 oz bag of purple weed was bought, and 2 seeds were found, germed, planted, and grew. one died shortly after 2nd set of fan leaves due to lighting issues (this became my first grow so I wasn't ready for it at this point). the second was a female and is now about 6-7 weeks old (I actually have not kept exact time) and looks to still have 3 weeks until ready.

ACTUAL QUESTION: Its not purple. I can see a little purple in the depths of the bud, but not much. When will the purple come out?!

From the sounds of it, its not as healthy as it could be. Sounds like it is probably struggling the whole time.

are you insane?!?! yes I think you are...just drop the temp to mid 60's at night and it will change to a purple colour.

oh no, she's very healthy.I'll take a picture sometime today and post it. maybe I'll be seeing a little more purple.

Yeah, I've heard about getting it chilly at night, but if its a purple strain shouldn't it turn purple even if the temps don't get down?

see it looks like there is some purple coming out.

I think any plant will turn purple from cooler temps but if a plant is purple from its genetics then lower temps aren't needed. jmo Peace

The purple genetics depend on the strain it could have had a purple mom and a green dad and have 50/50 genetic chance of purple. You can turn it purple in the cold and the weed you got could be from green genetics turned pruple at the last second and have no genetic purple.

Good info. Thanks i did not want to type it. Even when ya buy purple weeds seeds does not mean ya will get a purple plant.

good point. I'm hoping for some purplness though. idk if you could tell from the picture I posted but if you look into the bud, its kinda purple. well in real life it is purple, but in the picture it doesn't show up as well. All the buds have the similar coloring. I hope it comes out more. that plant has approximately 3 weeks left.

i did 4 plants from seeds i found in weed n in the last few week they turned to hermaphadites dont know if that was y !

10 degree (thats F) from lights on vs lights off is cool.


Buds are the purple part, no? Seedlings are seedlings. Then the veg state. *THEN* the flowering stage. Thats when you shall see the purple.

(and even if not purple, it still holds the genetics of that purple bag you bought and wanted to copy)
