When do I switch to flower?

Hello guys first time grower here, my plants are 5 weeks old, they’ve been topped on week 3 and had LST done on week 4. They’re still quite short and bushy but that’s because they’re almost pure indica strains. I’ve raised my lights higher up to allow them to stretch a bit more but when would be a good time to switch to flower and what are the indicators? Thanks.EF238998-D6F8-4DA3-BB33-FF7D8929B1B7.jpeg3DAC1EC2-6FAB-4D97-8BC3-3D75AE14715B.jpeg8614328A-37F2-4731-942C-A85F8EB2F8EE.jpegD09F462C-8532-41D1-9FEC-0BF627E2561A.jpeg

When you flip to flower is really up to you, there’s no specific time to flip. Most of the time it depends on the space you have to work with.

Hmm I see I’ve heard a lot of people say once the white pistils start to form on the bud sites then that’s a good indicator that they’re ready to be flipped into flower

With a small space I would switch between week 4-6. But it is really up to you. I would recommend more light watts. More light bigger yield. Spider farmer lights are awesome if you can afford one which there not to bad on price on amazon. I would recommend at least a 2000w light for 4 plants

Thanks man a lot of people have recommended spider farmer to me so I’ll definitely be looking to invest in one for my next grow. At the monent I have 2 275w Phlizon lights which a lot of people have told me aren’t great grow lights.

My first grow I made the mistake of having only a 300w light with 4 plants and when I harvested one of them and cured it it was only 3.5 grams and that made me sick to my stomach but it was a good lesson learned lol but your plants are looking really healthy good job!!

If thats what your lights are pulling, you should be fine. For pots, I always go at least 5-7 gal, but that size is fine but the plants will be smaller. I would suggest switching fairly soon. Because it will fill that pot fast once you switch.

Your plants look great BTW. You could transfer to larger pots but it gets tough with fiber pots to transfer later.

Watch kyle kushman on you tube for pruning techniques before you switch to flower. Good luck friend.

Yes spider farmer was at the top of my list when I bought my last light, but I ended up getting a mars tsw2000. Love it. I yielded and jarred up just a hair over 13 ozs dry this morning, I have the pics on another thread.

Always assume the plants in veg will "stretch" to 2-3 times their height in the first 2.5 weeks of flower (or so).

Many gauge the flip to 12/12 based on that equation.

3.5 grams off 1 plant? You could have accomplished that with a flashlight. What was the other 3 at after dry?

Ruffly about an oz each. Yeah it sucked lol but I learned and now am getting around 3.5-4.5 oz per plant in 2 gallon fabric pots. Right now I am having a issue with one of my sour diesel autoflower plants and it’s driving me nuts I have never grown this strain before. If there is a way for me to contact you through here and show you pics of it maybe you could help. I have been told overwatering which I have never had a problem with before but there is a first time for everything.

As said above, transplant to a larger size pot, 5 gallons for a tent is good I feel. Also if you are using quality LED I don't feel that you are too underpowered. I wouldn't raise lights above optimal to try to get them to stretch though. Always keep lights as close as you can. They will stretch enough in flower.

We speak publicly. We don't private message people to keep things secret.

What do you want to know about growing Sour Diesel? I've got several of them running right now, including both male and reversed females, and one in flower that's 4.5' tall at week 4.

Not auto though, but if you have questions about the strain, I might be able to provide assistance.

I appreciate the offer to help. I am definitely not trying to hide anything lol I just didn’t want to take away from that guys question about his lighting I was just trying to be respectful that’s all. It just seems like when I post a question I only get like one or two responses and usually it’s someone putting me down instead of helping. I am still a newbie even after 5 grows I’m still learning and I need help with this sour diesel autoflower. I will attach some pics and please let me know what you think of it. I had someone tell me overwatered but I thought all leaves will droop with overwatering but on my plant the fan leaves look healthy but the leaves where the budsites are do not look healthy. Please help thanks in advance.

It could also maybe be down to humidity issues? I’ve noticed when the humidity gets too high in my tent, my plants become all droopy similar to yours
