Dirt bag is going to the Wet side.

I'm gunna use water that is always at 6.5 ph.

When do you use the ph up of down?

Do you test in between water changes?

Or is it for Controlling the ph w when you change the res?

All the above. I always test and make changes when I do a res change and add nutes. I will also check the ph randomly and change the ph as needed. Also if you add any nutes to the res I would check it then as well. Need to be kept from 5.5- 6.3.

No problem at all. I would def try to get a electronic tester. So much easier to figure the ph than the test stips or any other tester for that matter.

yep. exactly wut FUBAR said.
make sure you check your PH after any changes to the water. and checking it once a day will allert you if you are having root problems befor the foliage of the plants allert you.

when changing your PH dont change it to dramatically either. 6.1 is 10x diffrent from 6.0. dont EVER change ur PH more then .7 each day as it will most likely make your plant lockout nutes, and all sorts of PH flux problems.

Also with evaporation do i just add extra water of nuted water?
yes. if you are running your nutes full strength, and you add 1 gal you will add whatever your nutes call for per gal.(my nutes are 1oz per gal)
and you want to check PH after adding it.

i dont waste my time PHing water for soil plants unless the water you are using is wayyy off. the PH of my tap is around 7.0 and it works perfectly fine.

if in soil i would not worry about PH unless you see a problem.

Depends. If you're running a pure hydro system like NFT or aeroponics, you can add pure water for up to 2 weeks, flush the tank and redo the nutes. You can also add nutrient solution and keep going for up to a month that way. I prefer to just add water and flush every 10 days.

what about ebb n flow?

I wouldnt think you would have to do a complete flush every 10-14 days. I think you would be good with just a res change and clean. I flush when I switch from veg to flower and about a week before harvest. Just my opinion.

I flush regularly because I run on aggressive nutes and want to avoid salt buildup as much as possible. The chemicals are cheap and it only takes about 15 minutes of actual work, as the rest is letting the pumps run or the tank fill. To each their own as every system is a little bit different.
