When does flowering actually start OUTDOORS?

For example, for INDOOR growers will start 12/12, but white pistils on females may not appear a while, sometimes up to 2-3 weeks I heard, but on the 3rd week, even if white pistils only show up during week 2, they still count those two weeks as part of the flowering time when declaring what week their plant is on.

For OUTDOORS, what would I declare for my flowering time. For example, if I just noticed the white pistils on a female on July 20th, does this mean flowering would have started around July 10th or so, as described in the above paragraph? I'm trying to figure out so I can correctly recognize the age my babe.

I myself count it from the day they show sex. If it took 2 weeks from the switch to show pistils, then the 2 weeks is moot. Even then, showing sex is preflower. Don't try to base harvest on a set time. Like if it rated to be an 8 week strain, don't count out 8 weeks then chop. To many factors go into it becoming a finished product. Go by ripeness not a calendar and you will be rewarded with a much better final product. Check the trichs and harvest based on the type of medicating properties you are looking for.

Thanks :) and yup, already have my x100 Zoom microscope to check the trichs. Just wondering so I can officially call my plants like "Week 7" when referring to it, etc etc. Anywho, thankies, I shall count upon first sight of the pistils, June 20th.

many of my plants shows sex mid july, but didnt flower till the 1st and 2nd week in august, sign of sex(peflower) to me isnt the start of flowering, in fact many ppl consider it still the veg stage, i start counting when visible flowers appear on the tops and nodes of the plant, looks like a cluster of pistils, not just 1 or 2, i i started counting when pistils showed, i'd be 8 weeks in, and i kno for sure that im not, to answer ur question flowering generally will start mid to late august outdoors
