When, how and how often should I top my plants?

A week ago I put clones under 600w lamps in a hydro system and I' ve heard it' s better to "top" them but I don' t know how exactly I should do it and don' t know when is the right time to do it.

Have also heard that some top them twice or even more often than that.

Any help would be appreciated.

I' m growing Brainstorm btw.

I topped twice and got 6 colas

you can top above the 5th node and get 8 to 10 colas it's all about how you grow and fitting the plant to your area for the best results possible

You want to cut of the lower weaker stems,and chose the 2-8 fattest stems.Heres a pic from my Afghani#1xHaleyscomet ,as you see I just cut off the lower stems,I wait a few days more too top it.

Odd advice??? my lower stems were my biggest colas/buds

it shouldnt matter too much which stems are cut off as long as the leaves on the ones left are getting good light, which they can turn into energy and grow phat budzzzzz
