When ordering seeds

No. I use the name of a former resident at the house. The post office does not care what name you use. Pick a name from the phone book, put it on an envelope with your address. Put a coupon or something in the envelope and mail it. If it turns up in your mailbox, keep it but don't open it. Then order your seeds in the same name. If customs or homeland security comes calling (they won't) you can claim you have been getting mail for this stranger and don't know anything about it.

In many apartment complexes, the mailcarrier won't deliver mail addressed to anyone who doesn't have their name on the mailbox. I always use my real name. What the heck? The worst that can happen is that they take my seeds away, and now they know I may or may not be a marijuana grower. What are they going to do with that information?

Use cash at a retailer to buy a pre-paid Visa or MasterCard. I use the Tor network when browsing and ordering from seed sites. It anonymizes traffic hiding your real IP address. Use the prepaid CC to order, use a fake name (if you must use a name at all), and don't have it shipped to your house. I work a mid-sized corporation and have it sent to work. Just tell the receiving clerk your expecting a package. If the feds track it down to the business, there's no telling which employee purchased the goods. Call me paranoid, but jail left a bad taste :)
