When should I flower? Trying to scrog

Just wondering when I should flower? I read somewhere when canopy is 50% full but not to sure so some advice would be awesome :) cheers guys I've attached pics it's my vfirst grow. And also what do I do if I find a male? I'm having a lot of difficulties looking at preflower? And I don't want to go to flower then find out one is male and rip it out and leave all this extra scroging room :(

I'd give them another 2 weeks of veg & then flip - as for the male q, that is the risk you take not knowing sex going into flower.
Fem'd seeds or clones are your best friend in applications like this.

He's a good 2 1/2 months from chop.
Where'd that come from ?

Unsure of strain, and I have a 400w hps plus 2 130w watt cfls at 2700k and 25000k and 6 23w cfls placed around the outsides of plants
OK,that should be more than enough to get a good stretch out of them then,I thought at first you was just using them tiny cfls in the pic:bigjoint:

I personally like at least 80% of my screen filled, but I have also seen people start flower as soon as the heads have touched the screen.(I did that once, and failed to fill my screen fully :dunce:),
I would certainly wait 2 weeks like the other guy says.

Awesome!! Cheers for the help guys!! If I find males while flowering and take them out do you think it's a bad idea to take them out and revert the lighting back to veg to fill the screen more or just deal with it and take some cuttings?

Switching from Veg to Flower, back to veg to fill the holes in the canopy & then back to flower will be very time consuming - they don't shift gears over night.
My recommendation would be to pull any males you find as early as possible & finish this run while taking clones. The babies can be vegging in another area while this flowering cycle finishes up.
Just the best use of time IMHO.

Yeh okay I'll do that, can I take cuttings when it's in flower?

Yes you can - the earlier into flower the better though.
Once you're sure your target plant is a lady take a couple of cuttings from lower branches that probably won't make it to the canopy to produce bud anyway.

This is a Double Bubble mother I cut at 8 weeks flower. She stalled as a bud for at least 4-5 weeks before deciding to work with me & send off new growth.

you can take cutting whenever you want some may take longer to root. I reveg my lsd for clones every time I harvest and I get new growth in 2 weeks under one 23 watt cfl
