When to flower a clone - A written survey

I am having a bit of a disagreement with a fellow grower. I have always flowered my clones when they get about a foot tall. He said that he flowers his clones when they have 4-6 nodes. What do you guys think? How soon would all of you flower your clones? Notice any change in yield one way or the other?

Clones are nice in the sense that they are sexually mature, and can be flipped at any time without problem.. The better the root system is developed before flipping, the better performance you will get, but beyond that it boils down to personal preference, and growroom height if you don't intend to top/train.. Genetics should also be considered to achieve those preferences since not all plants grow equally after flipping to 12/12.. I like small/stout plants myself, but I usually topped or FIMed or both..
