He folks... I have a Strawberry kush baby plant that is two weeks old tomorrow. I have her in homemade organic soil that is very basic..

1 part Pro-mix

1 part Mushroom organic compost

1 part Organic compost with Manure

1 part Organic peat moss

1/2 cup Vermiculite

1 cup Perite

When How long do I need to wait before I can start adding nutes? Thanks in advance for any help.

6 weeks old or about the 3rd week into flower. The manure compost has enough to supply the plant for a while. Cow crap is slow release.
Very good to know. thank u! I was worried i was starving her early in life. She does seem happy as of right now

Cannabis doesn't need much. The plant won't be big enough to overtake what's already available in the soil for at least a month. If you add anything more, do it on the first day of the switch to flower... to cover the stretch growth. When the stretch begins to stop. ( 3-4 weeks into flower.) Then switch to a low nitrogen fertilizer.

Biggest advice. Stay on top the soil PH. Check the run off every time you water. It doesn't matter what's in the soil if it's locked out.

My meter arrives today. Should be anytime now. Wouldn't the ph be the same for the soil and run-off? or are they usually different?.

Soil PH is the measurement of the amount of lime contained in the soil.

In a perfect theory situation. The run off and soil ph should be same/close. The run off PH is a good indicator how the soil is effecting the water PH. If run off is acidic, the soil is acidic. Alkaline...go's alkaline.

However, the run off test doesn't show the PH stabilization of the water that remains in the soil. Run off might measure 6.0 ph. Sitting in the soil for a length of time might raise or lower it. Especially if you add lime.

Either way you check it. Try to make sure it's never lower then 6.0. Never higher then 7.0.

Get brave and plant cover crops with your weed.
Two of my cacti were nitrogen deficient, I was just about to feed them, when I noticed all the clover that came up after the rain, seems to be doing the job, colour is returning.

If your soil go's acidic. Below 6.0. Go out to the charcoal grill. Scoop up enough ashes to fill a small jar or container. It's ok if it has rust flakes in it. Rust is a good thing. The ashes contain a bunch of magnesium and phosphate. Besides being a base. It's also a good fertilizer.

On the day the plant needs water. Mix 1/8th cup of ashes to a gallon of water. Wet the soil with plain water then pour in the ash water. 2-4 cups. Follow with plain water. Measure the run off ph. If it didn't drop enough, pour more ash water in and measure again.

Next time you water. Measure the run off again. If it needs adjustment( which it should), repeat the above. You don't need to try to get the PH perfect. Get it close, 0.5 difference.

Check it again...Next water.... Go slow and don't add a bunch.

I've killed an estimated 40-50 plants since 2005. If I could fu¢k it up. It got fu¢ked up. I'm a murder machine when it came to hydroponics too.
