when to harvest your plants

without fail every time someone posts a thread like "54 days is she ready?" the response is two weeks,,,maybe 1-2 weeks...but the truth is only you can tell and choose when you want to harvest!! the longer the better, if you want to get technical get a little pocket microscope on ebay for about 5 dollars and check your trichomes, if you want more of an up high harvest with mostly cloudy trichs, if you want some knockout herb then let the trichomes get amber as this produces other cannabinoids like CBN as the THC degrades...as far as pistils its really strain dependent some will finish with half white hairs and other will 100% red or orange hairs, its easy to tell when to harvest MOST of the hairs should have receded (not always), the buds should begin to swell and look more and more smokable every day, most plants ive grown smell like crazy at the very end, if you flush then your leaves begin yellow and fall off..the plant will just look done! hope this helps someone

Thanks for the info man! i kinda got this already but still having questions about my current grow :
Im growing Sativa dom (idk the strain) 56 days in flowering, yesterday in noticed some amber
and milky trichomes but yet most of the "hairs" seems to be white. I bought GHE Ripen but
never used it before and i wanted to know what will be my next step now :

1. Start flushing for a week - chop a week from now
2. feeding with Ripen for a week, 1 week flush - chop in 2 weeks
3. feeding with the current nuts for a week (AN Bloom A+B), use the Ripen for a week, 1week flush - chop in 3 weeks

My aim is to get the maximum potency and not to reduce THC level.

what do you think?
