Start the flower from the 12/12 date. As far as the nutes go...I'm not too sure.
What are you growing in, dirt or hydro? What has been your nute schedule so far?? Etc...

I am curious - why do you start your flowering count from 12/12, and not when the plant shows sex ?
A plant from seed put into flower before it is mature with alternating nodes will take weeks longer than a clone from a mature plant to begin flowering.
If you want a uniform flowering time to recreate a previous grow - everything should be equal right?

nobody said anything about force flowering so we count from day 1 of 12/12. most would assume its flowered correctly when answering unless told otherwise
counting realy isnt all that accurate anyways as we dont have the same room as the breeder or the amount of light. so i usuay add a week to 2 on what they say. and we all have diff wants for a ripe plant also. what they call ripe may not be what we call ripe or at what stage for what type of high. those counts are just a guidline or average.

Medi,

If you look at most of the posts on here - they are flowering plants before they are mature.....12/12 from seed, flower at 3-4 weeks from seed, and so on.

Even in the situations I stated above most on here advise to start flowering time from 12/12 and not from the time sex is shown, and if you look around you will see that many of the growers on here harvest way early.

If you start your flowering time from when sex is determined your flowering times will be very uniform compared with starting at the light switch.

Again I know the flowering time is just an estimate, but many of the new growers on here follow the reported flower time to a tee, and harvest much too soon.

A calendar schedule for flowering is just one tool for determining ripeness. No matter what the seed companies say about their flowering period times, the only true way to tell if the plant is ripe is to look at the trichomes and compare the ratio of amber to cloudy trichomes. Most people look for a 50/50 ratio of amber to cloudy to determine when to harvest. If you start your count at the time of flower initiation it should be close to the advertised time period, but not necessarily the exact time, because of differing growing conditions in everyone's grow.

and actualy amber is thc that has degrade3d and is why we get the burn out or couch lock. and yes i know most cant wait till mature as we should. also makes a weeker pot in the end and less yields.
peek thc hits by week 5 and are clear still obviously, then as they cliud we get the cbd..then as it gets amber its cbn,...thats degraded thc so is less potent but has a biff effect to the high. myself i like cloudy only. higher thc and has the cbd for my medz still before it degrades. and remember that they still ripen once cut and we dry and cure them to.
we do weekly testing for this right from veg to chop time and beyond

When peak THC is achieved various from strain to strain. How cloudy or amber the trichomes should be at harvest time also varies with strain and more importantly, with the grower's personal preference. Sativas are usually better harvested later and indicas are usually better harvested earlier.

agreed on our own personal preff. and sativa take longer to flower is why we harvest later. a sativa at the usual 8 weeks is still only half way done swelling.

Thanks medi for all your input, have just watered and lights out and they are def increasing in size, swelling i mean. being new and just trying to think, because i let them (himalayan gold) go so big would this increase the finishing time as were they not bentwould surley be 7ft plus?

not sure what ya mean there. all sativa grow taller anyways than an indica. and take longer to finish

Flowering time is determined by the genetics of the plant not the size of the plant.
thanks for replyPW... feeling lot better since posting as there is a huge improvment in growth of buds a lot fuller....
looking very good at mo....please god! what ever the outcome will post as to let all know how it finished as a thanks for all imput. take care.
