Hi everyone !
Hoping someone can shed some light on when i should start flushing my big buddah cheese and chronic grow.
Ive never flushed in the past but im curious to see if theres a difference and see for myself.
The issue i have is that i havnt kept tabs on how long its been in flower for so im really unsure when to do so.
Ill throw some pics up if someone could give me some sound advice on what i should be doing..
My observation and im sertainly no pro just a newbie but it seems that the swelling has slowed..70% red hairs and no signs of amber yet..gotta be getting close right? Maybe X2 weeks left?
Im currently feeding half strength nutes with kool bloom powder with EC @ 1.2 - 1.5 and have been for 1x week..
my question again is when to stop nutes and start my flush?

Any advice or feesback would be appreciated.. thanks lads/ladys.

I have no experience yet still waiting but from what I've read and seen you want to flush the last two weeks and add some molasses. No nutes should be used just water and molasses. Like I said no experience yet but this is what I plan to do and from what I've read that's what should be done. I'm curious to see what you decide to do and will be following along

Hi and Thanks for the reply,
I'm just unsure if i should start the process now or wait a bit longer..im unsure as i havnt been keeping tabs on how long im into flower..hoping someone with a trained eye could give me some advice just from looking at the pics i posted .. really keen to get the x2 week flush under way but dont want to start too early.

Well I know you're suppose to check trichs so maybe post some pics of them, most people want them to be cloudy/amber so if most are cloudy after you check you may want to start flushing. Idk why I can't post links I have two that go into detail and I think would be a big help to you. When I figure it out I will post

Yeah thanks for that..
Trichs seem to be mostly cloudy with no signs of amber yet.. im just concerned about dropping the nutes off too early as i dont want to loose extra weight by flushing early. Maybe im wrong and theres enough stored in the leavs to carry it through to harvest...just hoping someone may be able to tell just by looking at the pics..

The molasses is just stoner science. Plants do not uptake sugars from the soil. In organic grows molasses is added to the soil as food for beneficial bacteria, but for the flush it would do nothing.

Molasses is just stoner science? Molasses is known to increase soil activity which helps uptake nutrients. After flushing and getting rid of salt build up molasses helps intake w.e nutrients are left in the soil. So using molasses to help your plant intake nutes and better utilize soil is the equivalent of it doing nothing?? Post some links to back up your statement I'm always willing to learn something new.

awesome!!! wow! some real knowledge there. props

op, do your nute directions tell you to reduce nutrients at the end of flower? ever seen birds shit molasses tight before harvest?
did you know tobacco is fed to the day of harvest? have you seen the great efforts after harvest just to convince smokers they wont die, right away choking down unburned carbs

stop nutes, feed water, harvest

Reread my post. For a FINAL FLUSH it is utterly useless, as there is no nutrient uptake desired at that point - that's the whole point of a flush. That is stoner science. However, for an organic grow it is used to feed beneficials. Nothing wrong with adding it DURING THE GROW.

Flushing is for toilets lol the taste / strength comes from genetics. If anything your just wasting a couple days they could still be getting nutrients

I think if you really want to flush you might as well start now cuz your plants look a couple weeks from done.

I've personally have noticed flavor comes from how you grow it and how you cure it, If you pound your plants with more fertilizer than they can use the bud taste no bueno regardless of how much you try to flush it. Same if you dry too fast, no bueno.

I use coco mix and don't flush though I cut back nutrients the last week by half just because the plant doesn't need as much. I let it slow dry 5-7 days then into jars.

Flushing is defined here as running around 3x pot volume of water through your pot. If you really need to do this, you are dealing with plants that are in a pretty fucked up state.

Op, you talking about leaching your plant or really flushing it? If you are really planning to flush, you are being a moron and buying into stoner myth.

There are two accepted definitions of the term - during growth and flower its as you described, a "flush" of the nutrients from the soil, BUT in the final 1-2 weeks it refers giving pure water only in order to "flush" the feed chemicals from the plant - at least that's the theory. Personally I think its more stoner science.

Thanks for the advice,
I'm using coco and totally agree with the drying / curing process to gain the best possible flavor and smoothness.. i'm also convinced from most peoples reply's that the final flush seems to be quite mythical and scientifically unsupported.
I'll take the advice on half strength nutes but just one more question.. should i kick the kool Bloom and just use my normal Bloom Nutes at half strength?
apart from that thanks very much.

Personally i go full board till the day before Why stop bud growth? then i boil some water pull them give them a dip the roots to kill them good them hang the plant upside down. Killing the roots stops the nutrient flow and is said to help with curing not sure how much it adds but whatever lol.
