When To Start Indoors

Hi, I just have some questions about starting some clones indoors to later be transplanted outdoors.

In my area, according to the old farmer's almanac there is only a 10% chance that a spring frost will occur after May 10th so I want to put them in the ground around then. I'm thinking I'll have to harvest around October 10th because there is a 50% chance of a frost after that date.

I read somewhere to start them 4 weeks before you plant them outdoors but I've only seen this once and I'm not really sure its area specific. I have also read that starting them too early may confuse the plants and have bad effects on them later season.

What I'm wondering is when do you guys think I should clip some clones to have them ready to plant around mid May?
Also around May 10th the days will be 14h and 30m long so should I have my plants on a similar light cycle indoors so they aren't stressed when they are put outdoors?

let me know what you guys think, and if you could link me to a site that explains this already I would appreciate that too

Isn't it already mid may? You are a little behind I would clip your clones stat. As far as the being too old I'm not sure. I have clones I'm putting out that are months old just been training them to stay short

i would grow your clones out for a month or two indoors before the right temperature hits outdoors, That ways they have a nice root system as well as a decent amount of branching.

So you can increase your yield by 3x
