when to take clones

im trying to find out how old should a mother plant be before you take clones

and how can i keep my mothers from reaching 7 feet tall

You can take clones from a plant when it is able to clone.I like to take my cuttings after a month.being that it will veg for a long time look into supercropping so it can grow bushy instead of tall.
