When to top?

What up all my RIU mofos. Ya might think it's a Lil stupid, but fuck u if ya do lol, but I just started growing biddy early, my boy got me a 14 pack of seeds from a dispensary in socal. Phenotype indica, it's a indica sativa, but mainly indica dominant, this is be my second grow.

Sucks balls cuz my friend was supposed to ship me his 600watt dual spectrum hps, and another 150w hps, but the fucker still hasn't gotten em here. These things seem to b growing like weeds tho. Been about 3 maybe 3 n a half weeks since sprout, n now they are at 20" and 15". Funnything is, they have only been under 2 Teeny tiny 26 watt cfls each. This is why I believe they might have some massive growth potential. I want them topped for at least 2 colas each, about how tall should I wait for the plant to be in order to do this? I don't want plants to go past 5 feet, at least for this grow, my first was a micro grow with a 16" and a 20" that r budding now. So 5 feet is good enough for my second grow, maybe 6 or 7 on the third lol.

I'm basically asking for any help about topping, which method do people prefer? And a second question, since these lil girls are used to such a small amount of light, will they go I to shock from trowin a 600 watt in there? Or should I ease in the wattage to get my plants used to it? Like how I said I will have a 150w hps as well, should I put that in there instead of the cfls, and then gradually add some cfls, and then eventually just swith over to the 600watter? Any great advice always appreciated and ++rep as well.
Thanks for takin the time..

search for "uncle ben's topping method". you should really top for two colas after the plant is only about 5-6 nodes high.

also, never be afraid to add more light (assuming you have your temps in check).

combine the hps's with the cfl's all together the more light the faster and bigger your plants will grow. Make sure you have great ventilation though dont want it to get over 90 degrees at the highest.

the more light the better....i doubt you will shock the plants by addig the additional light. They will love you for it! You can top at anytime but tweezy is right just top at the 5-6 node. hope this helps
