When To Top?

Hey guys! I want to top this plant (a couple times). It’s my first grow and I’m not quite sure when to top. Familiar with HOW to do it from reading/watching videos, but I’m still confused as to WHEN to do it.
Indoor, 2’x2’x4’ box painted white inside
Day 13 growth
Ffof/perlite, 60/40 mix
32w Feit 3spectrum (upgrading soon)
Distilled water when needed, calmag today to help with spots.
I’ll add a pic of vertical growth when I get home

Go for it. It’s big enough.

I top 3 times. Then I supercrop. I run a single 4X4 flower tent with a 1000 HPS. I run multiple strains and found long ago a SCROG is a pain with strains finishing while others lagged. I can top those 3 times in a row and shape those 8 main branches like a wheel. The lower branches end up even with the upper ones. Spread out so it’s fairly even with good light penetration. I’m pretty OCD about it. I could probably do it asleep. This wheel shape goes straight up in flower. Yet even with stretch I can keep the right distance from my light which is fixed in an air cooled reflector. You can supercrop in early flower. You can pretty much shape one the way you want it.

I usually top after the 7th node and take it back a few nodes. You get faster more explosive growth with a touch more shoot development before topping. Seems to work out better for me when wanting to veg plants to get the most bud sites the soonest.
