Lacey is correct.... the Chinese OWN us, and they know it.

There is a reason why they are building a BLUE water Navy...and we are not anymore (though we should be).

To get back to the premise I suggested in my original post. America is in no fear of failing as we have enough private wealth that could be accessed to pay down our debt. Just like when Wal mart wants a chunk of some farmers property to put up a new store. They take their argument to county commissioners and voila eminent domain is declared wherein poor farmers property rights go bye bye to make way for the supposed economic opportunities the new Wal mart would provide for the greater good of the whole community. This same formula would be used to strip the super wealthy of enough assets to pay down the debt. I know what you're thinking, elite would keep it tied up in court for years. But no, it will be amazing to see how fast we toss those greedy bastards under the bus to save our collective butts, and good riddance to bad rubbish is my opinion. The fact that there are ass sitting do nothing scum who think they deserve $4 billion or more a year for their ass sitting do nothing jobs makes my skin crawl.

you do know thats a bad thing? and no it wouldnt necessarily come from private wealth. it would come from lowered pensions, higher taxes, and lower wages. remember the wealthy ride on the backs of the lower classes. its the way its been since the dawn of man and the way it shall stay.

Unfortunately a lot of the monetary troubles we have are very real, there's one thing your forgetting about the relationship between the US and China. We are the destination for a large amount of their cheaply produced goods. Without us they would have no market for their goods. China's currency is manipulated and devalued to keep the chinese peoples buying power low and to keep their costs low. Eventually their currency will have to float like everyone elses and once that happens, forget about their masssive economic growth rates.
On another note, I think a lot of you are forgetting some of the powerhouse companies started and based in the US. The US is the world leader in high tech industries.
Are we in a shitload of trouble financially right now. Yes. Is the USA going to come to an end anytime soon. I really doubt it. The US has far too many good thinkers and too much ingenuity to fail

i live in oregon, we have the highest taxes of any state now,, also i heard on the news that china is buying up property in the midwest, i hate china, this is on a different vein but in china they skin dogs, cats, puppies & kittens, raccoons alive, they say the skins come off easier, i watched a thing on peta showing the chinese actually skinning a live raccoon, then they threw him in a pile of others skinnned they live for 5 to 10 minutes after, i still cant get the image out of my mind, they used 74 german sheperd puppies to make a coat, im sorry to bring this up but china is buying the united states up, and supposelly loan money, thats not going to be fun. here there are many robberies, home invasions on people who grow medically, no this country is in trouble, all you have to do is look around, no one treats people w/respect, wait till we find out china owns us.

But if you want to think the other way...fine. Let's see.... first everyone will be either be driven out or killed in all coastal cities...perimeters will be set up....and the country will be squeezed from all four borders towards the center...like netting fish. Drones and jets coupled with our own satellites will do the heavy lifting and death will reign from an invisible enemy.

It isn't like the movies.... they'll just isolate the armed combatants and incinerate them from above.....just like in Afghanistan....you'll never see it coming.

But really, it will be more of an economic enslavement.... the Chinese will come in to take over all of the top tier positions...and we will simply work for them. They will also bring with them their ideas on discipline.... there won't be any counterculture movement. They are all about production....and order. This will be a sorry country indeed. many will commit suicide.
