Where should I buy my 400 watt HPS from?

HTGSupply seems to be way over priced when compared to a random Google Search on 400 watt HPS lights. Yet my friends are recommending I buy from HTGSupply because its a good price.

Am I missing something here?
Please advise ASAP

HTGS is anything but overpriced. If you are finding things much cheaper just keep in mind the old saying that you get what you pay for. You said; "HTGSupply seems to be way over priced when compared to a random Google Search on 400 watt HPS lights." Well not all lights, 400-watts or not, are not like man, they are not all created equal so lower price does not always equate to a better deal ..... it only means cheaper and if so then there is always going to be some reason it is cheaper that goes beyond the seller being a munificent person who hardly make anything on what they sell just so you, the purchaser, can receive a better value. That sort of thing just doesn't happen once you stop snoring and farting and have woken up.

Depends on what your looking for...you can get a good barebones ballast kit for like 75-90$ if you don't want a fancy one....

Get a quality ballast is all I can say. They offer more options such as dimming, and digital set ups run mh and hps. I advise lumatek, I got my initial set up for 190 shipped. A lumatek 400w e-ballast alone costs 190, the hood, hps bulb and socket were essentially free. You just gotta hunt and read the fine print, if you want to save energy and run silent...digital ballast!

Maybe it's just me, but i don't see the point if forking out big bucks for these ballasts mounted in fancy aluminum cases. Plain old ballast kit works just fine as long as it's from a good manufacturer (Philips-Advance are best IMO)
