Where to get a HPS Lamp or Indoor Ballast?

I just ran out and got a 400W high pressure sodium bulb from Home Depot, but they only had outdoor fixtures. Does anyone know a regular store that sells ballasts or indoor HPS lamps/fixtures? Also, is it recommended to use a HPS bulb during the vegetative state?

I'm pretty sure you should use a MH for vegetative state.

I heard they sell them there, you just have to know where to look.I have never found them, however.Perhaps try a farm store?As far as hps for veg, I've read it works ok, but the red light encourages stem growth.Seem to be plenty of folks doing it on here with no trouble.

Chill man! I know all about the many online sites that offer HPS ballasts. I was just hoping to get one tonight in a brick and mortar store so I could pay in cash.

search switchboard.com search lighting and start calling. Even if they dont have remote ballast's ( thats what you are looking for I take it), you might find somebody that can wire one up.
