I'm new to this and am using a DWC but I seem to be having some problem with over watering. I was thinking of switching over my next run to an EBB & FLOW system ? Just need to know which one is better for newbes

Sup Greenie. My first grow was also a DWC. I dont understand what u mean by "over watering". You should not have to water your plants only top of the reservoir with fresh water when it gets low. Is your DWC a tub or bucket with an air pump frothing the nutrient solution with the plants suspended above? Maybe you have weak air pump and u r not getting enuff oxygen into ur solution. Anywho...for newbs, i would suggest DWC just because that was my first grow and i got great results using 4 42 watt CFL's, Pure Blend Pro Nutes. The attached file is a sketch of my first DWC...Simple, Cheap, and gives great results. Happy growing!!:weed:

I have a 10 gallon aquarium have it rapped so no light can get in, I have the plants in baskets where they are just about a 1/2 " in the water , use lava rocks as a grow medium , I have a cut peace of styrifoam that fits tight in the aquarium for the baskets to go through . I dont water them . But my plants like a month old and is only 3" tall with a shit load of leafs on it . There starting to wilt and curl under . I'm using a 400w mh at about 12 " above my plants. I also have a CO2 drip in my grow room . I'm running a 18/6 cycle with plenty of vent and my water temp is 75 my room temp is 80 . Cant figure out whats wrong

I had a plant that did something like that using hempy buckets.

I thnk it was just the strain, however I did have my light really low...

I don't know what the problem was but I would try moving the light further away from the plants, it will make them stretch for the light.

My guess is right now, they have no need to grow UP since they have tons of light, so they are growing out, but just my newb opinion...

For myself, I think Ebb & Flow is the easy route for new growers. Just go easy an the Nuts. many new growers love to push the PPM up real high.

But who Am I to say which is better. Some Men Like skinny Asian Girls, another might like a big black women, another might like the UK women. It is not which is best for everyone, it is what is best for you.

But I have three Flood and Drain systems, that now are all just sitting in my garage, I have now changed over to the organic soil grows. Soil is the way for me now.

Lower your water to just underneth your cups. you want the bubbles splashing water on the rocks. It helps produce root growth. Go easy on the nutes I do a quater of what is suggested and will go yup every couple days. I have a journal check it out...GL
