Which tent setup YIELDS more?

Whats happenig people? Currently I have a 4x8 tent with 2 600 watters in air-cooled hoods. The hoods are being cooled by a 440cfm inline fan. Every 10 weeks Im yielding 21 oz dry. Im using 18 five gallon pots with FFOF.

Will the yield be larger if I put my two 600 watters in my 4x4 tent? At 75w psf in a 4x4 could I pull more than 21 oz if I changed my setup today?
Thanks guys

Also, don't know what space u got left on ur floor but maybe increase to a 7 gallon pot. I've never tried 7 gallons but I saw a post where the user did some 5 gallon pots side-by-side with the 7 gallons and had a noticeable difference.

Yeah thats always an option. What about a 12 site DWC under the 1200 more than 21oz?
I'm sure DWC will increase yield but I can't recommend it cause I never did DWC. DWC/hydroponics is a whole other animal. I wanna take the plung to DWC but just scared to :(

You can also use walmart shopping bags as a much, much cheaper alternative. If you really want to go big on the cheap, a shopping bag on top of a 7 gallon trade pot will give you about 11 actual gallons (trade gallons are smaller than regular gallons, thats why a 5 gallon bucket holds about the same as a 7 gallon pot)

The 5 gallon containers are fine. I really just want to bump my harvest up to around 28 oz and didnt know if the 4x4 would yield more than the 4x8 with the same lighting 1200 watts.

You might wanna try the 3rd 600 watter cause you are a little shy on lighting as it stands. 600 watts is optimized with a 3x3 footprint, but you are throwing a 4x4 print. Also, if you got room in the tent, use larger pots... Don't see how you can with 18 five gallons though. Pics might help.

***Edit: writing this out while you were posting your reply to the five gallon pots, not trying to convince you of anything - just throwing out ideas ***

is the 440CFM a six inch?
Dude you got to tell me more, im planning on running the same setup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D Finnally found someone!

Anyways.. how hot is the room your growing in, and how hot is the room outside? And what are you using for intake?!?

And what methods are you using for your grow?(LST, etc)

Also do you have pics :D

And my answer to your problem. Throw 3 of them in there.. But I perfer walking space so I would just keep those two and keep that setup.

Your barely getting more than an oz per plant in 5 gallon buckets? Drop to 1-2 gallon pots, run 3x3 under each light (1plant per sq ft), and shoot for 2oz per plant. Defo duable and more logical than your current set up

Yeah 6" MTN 440cfm el cheapo from amazon.com it works good though.

Outside temp. is currently 47 deg. and inside the tent the temp. is 78 and climbing. It will probably get up to 80 then start to go back down the later it gets.
When the outside temp is in the 50's like 55 per say it gets pretty warm in the tent. Id say around 87 degrees. When it starts to climb that high one 600 gets shut off.

I normally top them once while there in the 1 gallon pots. Then when i transplant into 5 gal. and move them in the tent to veg for 2 weeks I top them again.

Yeah ill post them in a minute waiting for them to post to my email.

DWC is super easy. When I switched 3 grows ago I went from averaging 2 oz. per plant in soil with a 4 week veg to averaging 4 oz. per plant in DWC with 1 week veg. Wont ever go back to soil unless pot is completely legalized and I can do 50 plants at a time.

Yeah im getting like 1.05 per plant sheesh :/ I want to be up to at the very least 1.37.
So are you saying 16 1 gallon containers in the 4x4? Having trouble following what you mean by "run 3x3 under each light (1plant per sq ft)" are you saying buy a 3x3 tent??

Nice. Yeah Ive been reading about it for years. Ive followed numerous DWC journals and I always have the feeling like "I can do this." My soil grows are always healthy and I know my plants needs. What would YOU yield in a 1200 watt 12 site dwc system in a 4x8?

i think you should bump up your veg time, try topping them more and super cropping along with maybe a 6-7 week veg time and you should see much better yeilds

You are just scared to give it a go cuz of the horror stories. I was too. It kicks ass bro. EASY!! Try it and you will love it. As to what I would yield, first I wouldnt run 12 buckets under 2 600s. I would run 8 and depending on what I ran for a strain but lets say Female Seeds Bubblegummer and I would get real close to 2 pounds.

dont do dwc. if your getting 20 zones off two 600s your doing something wrong. sorry to say. but changing your system to something fully hydro is not a smart idea for a rookie. please tell us more about your setup. a 5 gallon pot should be getting 3 ounces MINIMUM per plant. i usually get between 4-6 ounces out of a 5 gallon pot. do you have any fresh air exchange or are you choking your plants?

I'm in a 4*4 tent with a 1000watt air cooled hood.I depends on the breed grow style and light.I run bluemoonshine and pull 3lbs.

Yeah dont switch to a system that will double your yield, knock 2-5 weeks off your grow and save the hassle of transplanting and disposing of a shitload of soil and cutting your hands on time in half.
