White and red, where are the numbers?

In any case, EH, if you don't mind, what kind of improvements did you see as you removed blue chips and went with whites?
I'm not the one you asked, but in my own DIY LED cabinet setup, I previously noticed that the leaves closest to the blue diodes looked less healthy. They may have been a bit close, but the distance was okay for all the other diodes. I replaced them with cool whites, and I no longer get an unhealthy section underneath.

I think it would be less of a problem for larger, higher-powered setups where you expect to have the panels a bit further away. I was flowering with about 30W of actual LED draw, so I was keeping the panels pretty close.

EDIT: the blues I was using were 470nm XP-E, so not nearly as efficient as the newer royal blues. The higher efficiency both makes them more appealing, and more dangerous if they get too close.

it would be nice if red & white were all that were needed

and even nicer if sellers would refrain from charging so much for simple tech!

is the "white" really about "full spectrum kind of mix".
I thought science says u Need red, blue, and far red. White has amounts of far red too, thats why ppl r using it, not?
