thanks for the compliments saltroc and dae. to answer bertosolo87 question, yeah the netting does work very well. i have it anchored with heavy duty staples. i'm not much of a bamboo stick user. i did try them, but they rot and bring mold into the grow area. not a good thing.. haha. just about a month left on these girls. my veg closet is filling up much faster then i thought, even with half strength nutrients. i'll post some pics later on

thanks tsnow and titleistbudz for the support!

as for tsnow's cloner question, i use rockwool and neoprene inserts together.

the neoprene help keep the clone upright while it roots. i took 2 sets of clones with this method and got 100% success rate. they did take almost 2 weeks to root, but on the 3rd set of clones i added rockwool cube covers and got roots in 5 days. i think there was too much light getting in around the hydroton and causing them to root slowly.

hope that helps you out.

I finally had some time to raise the lights in my veg closet. i used 4 inch spring loaded anchors. they are rated for heavy duty. may as well over do it then have to redo it later, or worse case, have lights fall on your plants and water.. yikes.. haha.
there is alot of room up above the lights. that weird looking thing is just a power supply that the lights run off.

quick update.

day 37 of flower. girls are looking good. the rhino is amazing. you can see the outer leaves starting to wilt and die. anyone want to take a guess at the yield?

those are super nice. i am actually thinking about growing rhino after my next grow. How far away do you keep your light away from those colas you got there and what watt light are you using?

thanks weedbro.. to answer your questions.
I think the light is around 18 inches from the tops. it would be higher if it were warmer but its very cold where i'm at. the best way to figure out how close to hang your lamp is to hold you hand under the light. there will be a point where you will feel a very intense burning sensation. back off a few inches to be safe and hang your light from this height.
if you see any kind of burning raise it up.

i'm using a 600w hps from htgs.

I don't have a clue about hydro but your set-up looks impressive. Very clean and well organized.

I am interested to know why you picked white rhino and I have heard some things about sour this and that so it also has my interest.

Could you possibly elaborate a bit on your strain selection?

Thanks

day 33 of veg.

lots of pics for this update. ph is staying around 5.7 - 5.9. plan on cleaning the res and moving things around for the areo cloner. i'm going to install a rail so i can hang some cfls underneath the plants in veg and put the cloner where the res is currently located. there should be enough room for it once i move some junk still in the closet. going to start flowering 4 of the rhino's within a week. the other 2 and the sage n sour are going to be moms once i clone and sex them. next update should be a big one. stay tuned.

Very nice. Your journal should be more popular 'cause it seems like you know your stuff.

thanks for questions lacy. hopefully i can answer them.. haha.. just got blasted off a little rhino.. haha

i choose the white rhino because of its yield and its high. the white rhino is perfect for indoor SOG/hydro. its not a tall plant, but very bushy. by taking advantage of these characteristics you can easily fill any grow space with fewer plants. i did veg these plants much longer, they were both mothers that i cut clones from. i got 18 from the white rhino and i cut 6 from the sage n sour.

the sage n sour was purely an accident. a buddy of mine, who is every bit a marijuana geek that i am, found a single seed in his stash. he saved it for me and it germinated.

the full name is the S.A.G.E. n SOUR. it was developed by TCSeeds and won the cup a few years back, its a cross between the S.A.G.E. and the sour diesel. the white rhino is a cup winner too. it was created by the same guys that created the original white widow, the greenhouse seed co.

Very impressive! That is well thought out.
You chose the best strains for your particular set up and grow style. Good stuff.

Yes and I read about that one seed. Ha! :hump: Great find buddy. I have a really good friend that often gives me seeds he finds from time to time and I odn't object:mrgreen:

The sage n sour vaguely sounds familiar. Really interesting. I read that white rhino has a lot of medicinal qualities also.

Thanks
gotta rep ya;)

thanks lacy.
i was originally going to grow the big bud strain, but the rhino isn't far from what big bud would yield and the smoke is better. the high is amazing. hits hard and last forever.. can't ask for anything else. haha

the white rhino averages 500-600g in sog. even more if go 9+ weeks. the last flowering cycle yielded almost 5 oz with only 2 rhinos. i could have yielded more, but at the time there were only 2 out of 4 plants that were girls. but now its a different story. i can clone well and i have sexed clones just doing what they do best waiting to start flowering.

That sounds awesome. I have some big bud seeds now but I've recently found a site close by. Its the first legal canada seed bank and it has a killa selection.
Unbelievable. A med plants section and all. The have some white rhino and some s.a.g.e. n sour. They have all kinds of the more rare but good strains as well.

Thanks for the info

Lacy:)

thanks lacey..
do they have a website? what are you going to get into next? haha.
i have some new pics to show off.. i did some much needed trimming.
the rhino is much further then i thought. fan leaves are starting to curl
and die. its kinda sad but she will live on through her many many clones..
haha. the sage smells soooo good. my hands wreak from all the resin.
