White walls vs. Reflective walls

Well first off let me say chello to all and hope everyone is coolio I have enjoyed chillaxing and reading the threads GREAT INFO so my question is to anyone that has built there own room or rooms flate white walls? or reflective material? my room size is 3' x 8' x 8' My lighting plan is flourecent until they transplant into gallons and when I am ready to bud switching to around 1000 watt HPS I have not decided on soil or hydro yet, I am thinking maybe both any way any help to this NEWBIE would be great

i like white too. as for hydro or dirt . keep in mind that hydro insists alot more attention to nutrient ppm and ph and does does not allow the buffer that soil gives.

when in doubt remember K.I.S.S keep it simple stoner! as for me I use soil and get incredible results. just dont use the cheap stuff.

i would consider either 2 400's or 2 600's. I have a similar grow space...2x7x8. I recently updated my closet from a 1000w hps to 2 400w hps's. I have way less heat to deal with and light to the canopy is waaaaaaaay more even.

There are 2 contrary opinions in the scientific community and i suppose they are both dependant on where u live.

If u live in a cold climate , what u want is the silver mylar thermal imaging protective material. This keeps in heat alot better than panda sheet and also stops thermal imaging at the same time.

If u live somewhere hot like myself, then keeping your room cool is the solution not the problem. In that case, u want white aka panda sheet.

Silver Reflective material is better in terms of reducing ones light needs in the sense that mylar is 97 % reflective meaning inevitably the light will bounce around till it reaches the plant, increasing ur light penetration and reducing ur light needs all at once.

Unsure if any of you are aware, the only Tent manufacturers who has avoided heavy embarrasment in that market are Secret Jardin & homebox, the materials used in the white PVC are fine and have no issues, however, eziTent and 99% of the other manufacturers ( 99% chinese ) are under scrutiny at the moment, theres an uproar within the market. Basically, the white pvc they initially used wasnt fluid enough, in some parts of the tent it was thicker than others thus leading to light leakage, so, they decided to add a rubber compound to help keep the overall thickness more uniform to stop the light leakage. What they never took into consideration was......

under heat conditions, the rubber compound in the pvc emits a toxic gas turning your garden into a gas chamber killing it. Its been kept fairly quiet as the chinese manufacturers including eziTent initially started blaming ventilation issues stating larger exhausts were required, eziTent has since accepted that the new materials are the cause and if you own a white eziTent and take it to them they will exchange it free of charge to a silver reflective tent for you. the chinese manufacturers wont though, they have probably moved factory 6 times since they produced the product so steer clear of imitations........

By far the best quality tents on the market are a french company "Secret Jardin".
