white widow has no smell - 1 week into curing!

okay, since i've been growing my white widow it hasnt smelt through the grow much at all. even when drying it, i couldnt smell weed unless i put the bud up to my nose and gave it a sniff. so i thought i'd be patient and wait for changes during curing... but it's a week in now and the bud only smells when inside the jar; as soon as a little bits taken out that individual bud doesnt have any odour to it.

whats going wrong here and is there anything i can do to help it... maybe it needs much longer curing? i had my lemon skunk (previous crop) curing for less than a week and it stunk even before curing and during) and it was nice smoke too.

Well there is a school of thought that thinks that properly grown bud does not stink. Idk either way...
What is the RH of the room your drying in? If the RH is too low it will make buds that don't smell as much.

am i opening the jar too much? i have quite a lot of marijuana in the jars so maybe its taking longer; i'm reading a thread and its saying something along the lines of more bud in a jar will take longer than smaller amounts? the jar stinks of it just not when you take it out. im also wondering if im opening the jars too much is this affecting the smell as im not letting the gasses build up enough so i can slowly release them? help please!

there is many, many versions of "white widow", You probably don't have the real thing, I grew some crap from nirvana that they called white widow and it had no smell, looks or taste.

i grow WW as well and can tell you it doesnt have that smell you are after. when mine are fully done they are very sweet/piney or earthy smelling and tasting (is the only way i can really explain it and much less aperant on the buds when removed from there packaging/jar) now the bubba kush i grow is VERY strong in the smell department, if you even brush up against it when flowering your clothes will have its pungent smell on them for a while lol. WW is a good stealthy grower=no real string smell so if you dont have access to carbon filter or other things to supress the smell of your grow room then this would be the one for you if you are looking for a more pronounced smell or taste you might as well grow another strain i personally love the sativa dom high it gives, great for on the go smoke and can be easily carried as the smell is so minor.

and if you want to get super crazy lol try water curing it, it has absoulutly NO smell or taste and i mean when you take a hit it will be like blowing out vapor. you could pack it in a cigarette and walk down the street smoking it and nobody would be able to tell at all and not to mention it is very potent. i have smoked some of my water cured ww with friends and they where talking all kinds of shit about no smell this and that and after 2 rips there mouths where sealed shut lol.

My friend grows WW. Not much smell but a superb taste and effects. That's what it's about for me, the taste and effects.

I have had buds that have smelled like grass or hay in the past however some of the plants were plagued with deficiencies this run I produced some "perfect" plants all the way through flowering and I am surprised for the first time they are smelling extremely potent even before going into the jar I truly believe the quality of the plant has to do with the quality of the bud even though you may have some nice smelling stuff on some deficient plants before chopping they tend to lose that sugar aroma and turn earthy within minutes after chopping I think it is really in the growth of the plant but who knows maybe some scientist will come prove it with large words and formulas

try taking them out of the jars and give it some space and air. it´s very likely that in four to five days it´ll start to smell.then you can start the curing process again.
