WhiteWidow, First Grow

halfway there..
looking good. just outta curiosity what is ur nutes schedule?( how often do U feed? what are u feeding them?) and how large are those pots? Im sure U heard they grow 1ft per gallon..just wondering why that sativa isnt reaching for the stars yet..

Hi spittn4cash, good question about nutes actually. I was ment to be gettn Ionic bloom from a store just out side of town. Its getting there thats abit of a prob. So a freind said he was going in on monday so hopefully by tueday morning should have its right nutes, and if not, ill go myself wednesday as im really needing it and cant wait muich longer..
i use Miraclegrows Liquid feed, which is 12-10-10. im being cautious with the nutes as dont want to make amistake. The %of nutes to water is lower than suggested on the bottle. plants are doing great as u can see, but i need a high Potash for my floweres I feed them every 3-4days from the bottom then a little dose from the top. Ive noticed signs that the plant gives when its undernuted and needing some. Leaves seem to droop from the middle and after a good feed they perk right up. So after 1 feed i up the nutes%.

Yea i know 1gallon per foot of growth, im sure these are 3gallon pots, but ive made a lttle mistake. When i repotted i didnt plant it close enough to the top. trying to think if i should take the plant out partially (like rpotting) and filling the bottom with fresh soil to bring the plant up a bit. What do u think??

thats coo..as long as they get some phosphorus, thats whats responsible for making those buds really plump up. I also notice the red stems and yellowing at the leaf tips, thats usually bcuz of a phosphorus def. and the red stems could be bcuz of temps at night, but when u get those nutes the problems should be solved. Im sure ur keeping an eye on the temp, so no worries there.

as far as the repotting, I say if U believe it will help with growth then go for it, only drawback I see is that you might miss a day or two of growth as the plant tries to recover..it shouldnt stress it too much as long as you are quick and careful with it.

but IMO the plants are looking great, and if it aint broke dont try to fix it...they should be alright in those pots for another few weeks, when they start showing signs of rootbound then I'd think about repotting, but for now everything looks A-OK!

red stems are also nitrogen def i seen a lot of plants do this in flower i wouldnt worry as plant needs k value more than n in flower anyways just small break down of N P K (N)=leaf maker (P)=root maker(K)flower maker i.e buds

thanks for that guys. I noticed the red stems weeks ago. Reason i remember is i was reading a post about red stems, but my plants were only 2-3weeks old when i firts saw the redness in the stems.

yeah its all gone now so i can get out the chair and get to my desk at last lol! widow is awsome but i found quite hard to grow my new setup will be complete tommrow i post pics of my new plants gpot 4 big bud day three of 12/12 i fucking hate void time did start with 7 lost 1 cause it was ill one cause it was little runt and one was a male in preflower so fingers crosssed 4 females=)
p.s i have 100 seeds coming all feminsed 50 strains 2 seeds of each top strain all sealed and dated but they been locked up for 6 months in a big storage container so i am the test dummy to see if they still any good lets hope they are

100 seeds, u lucky buggar lol ill be a guinea pig too lol Keep me posted with ur progress DGT, even if ur not keeping a journal here at RIU, drop me aline now and then buddie let me know and see how ur getting on So how would u rate these cfls then?? thinking on getting them next week for my next project dont know what im gonna do yet, take cuttings or get new seed, still debating. But i love this WW plant, looks awesome. A friend comes up every 2days to see how there doing lol

oh, DGT got some new ntues aswell, a mate of mine got it and passed it up today. Its Ionic Boost. He also had Ionics Bloom. U think i should just use the boost, or would i be better with the bloom??

i would use bloom feed till week 5 then week 5 boost all week back on bloom feed for week flush for final 2 weeks

bye the way those clf,s are dam good but i have my 600 watt dual spectrum on the way i would have really liked to do 4x200 watt envirolites vs 600 watt hps but i dont have the money to. the one good thing about them envirolites is if you are having heat troubles there is virtually no heat you can put you hand on bulb when its been on for 18 hours i going hps as i have only ever grown with cfl,s so will be good. 4 days of 12/12 and no sign of sex which is good thing as males show first. i also have home made bubbler with 4 ak 48,s the first of the freebies i am so impressed with the speed of these bubblers see what they mean when they say inch a day i will post pics in my journal a lot has changed i spent a lot of money but worth it. All will be complete by end of week and i will post pics in my white widow journal p.s keep it up your doing brillant for your first grow

right, ok DGT got ya on the nutez. Didnt get the bloom stuff from my mate so hes gonna hand some in hopefully tomorrow. i gave it a BOOST the other day didnt know if i should inject it with a needle lol It said 7ml per 1litre, i did half alitre with 3mls, just to be safe, then ill put it up abit.
How many times a week should u feed the plants? I know different plants absorb nutez faster than others. As i said i wasnt always a pc tekkie, i did horticulture some many years ago with my grandfather, so i have a rough idea how plants work. Mates used to give me stick about doing gardening (as u did when ur 1 LOL whos laughing now i say

Moved light higher up today, about 8-10inches, as top of plant looks abit singed. Im using this grow as a learning phase so im not too bothered how it turns out (well i am but not too worried). looking ggod though, a few mates who get to se it always comment on them on how great they look, so im a very proud father

no more boost till week 5 you dont want to nute burn them else you have endless troubles use 10ml per litres of water with the bloom feed as if it same as mine its for hydro and has more in it than the soil version when i feed my widow the full 14ml per 2 litres i got nute burn bad and took good week to recover then then adds to you havest date so not good. i post my pics later everthing has arrived 600 watt dual spectrum OMFG

didnt know that, my widow actually hermied on me too, I couldnt figure out why, but if theres any truth to what U said then that explains it all.

I love this thread. I'm just about to start my first grow in a similar set up, its White Widow too. Great to see the pics on here showing how the plants develop. I'll be keeping an eye on this.

hi guys, sorry ive no replied before now but whenever i came into rollitup and went to reply, my browser crashed. so i had to reinstall windows...

DGT: didnt know that about white strains.

All went well anyways. Had to harvest a week early as fan leaves were yellow and wilted, looked like it died. But saying that there was nothing wrong with the smoke
A freind of mine whitied, another friend didnt want anymore and a girl i know refued it after one Joint LOL so it was pretty dam good. very proud of my first grow.
Didnt get much, and didnt have scales to weight it. Judging id say probaly about 60-80g. I have pics so ill upload them later as there all on a cd somewhere.

So, grow number 2. Bubblelicious, nirvana. i didnt know that this was a white strain, wanted a normal strain this time. A well, seeds bought now. Wanted to try cali orange but store didnt have it

ill dig out images and post em.
