Who grows AUTO'S??

Nice job, man! Looking very good!
I have grown a couple autos. I just finished Heavyweight's Wipeout Express. I would say it turned out alright; a solid B+. I grew two of them, and the second one took about two weeks longer than the first. I am sampling her (#2) right now and she is a completely different beast than the first one. Smells like someone tried to make woppatouli with naptha and rotted fruit :hump:. All I am sampling is a dry hash pile nug, but I am very interested to see the final product.

As for recommendations, I can't really say too much in the way of sativas. I'm more of an indica and a kush-man myself. However, I am grown Advanced Auto Jack Herer and that was abysmally pathetic. Avoid that, man.

Tips? I don't have many lol. I would say the biggest tip is to not follow tips because I have heard the "no topping" rule a hundred times. I have topped a Kush-n-Cheese auto (highly recommended by the way) and it grew very well. Much better than if it would have kept growing until it hit the light. I would say that you should watch the defoliation though, especially during the veg.

Here's a few pics. The ones that are of the alive plant are #2 and the ones that are of harvest are from #1.

Automatic AK by Advanced Seeds (x4)
-Currently half way through week 10.
-Growing in soil using 2 gallon pots. Nutrients are IONIC Grow and Bloom by Growth Technology.
-400 watt HPS, 80x80x160 tent, 4" extractor, 2x circulation fans.
-Lights on 30c, Lights off 20c. RH lights on 30%, RH lights off 50%.

As for advice that's down to your setup. But for a setup like mine I'd say don't risk over crowding, get a bigger extractor fan or a cool tube than what I've got as temps run on the high side (winter here and the rad is off in the room and still hits 30c). Just be careful when coming into flowering with nutes, I've had problems coz of heat forcing the plant to drink to much.

Pictures below are from weeks 1-8, ran into a few problems last few weeks so they don't look as nice now, expecting them to run another 2 weeks so will add the last collage for weeks 8-12 then if this thread is still active.

You got it. Everything Dinafem is pretty solid. The Amnesia XXL Auto will get large. And yield well. The Critical Jack is another good Dinafem auto. It didn't produce well for me tho. May be my fault I dunno. But the smoke was freeking powerful. World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder was also dank. That's been a while tho. The autos have really improved over the last several years. Good luck bro.

It's improving and changing so fast too. The first ones I did were Dinafem and Sweet Seeds. They were awesome at the time. Several years ago like 4-5 I don't know. But the quality now is so much better. Like the Dinafem XXL strains. They are really zeroing in on the beat genes to use to isolate The desired properties. Next year. This years favs will be marked down and they will have something even better. Progress. It's a beautiful thing.

I did 3 Dinafem Moby Dick XXL. 2 sativa pheno, 1 indica.
20151219_221916.jpg 170g ( Very piny smell, soft piny taste, Hard core)
20160103_110630.jpg 220g ( Sweet taste, really strong head high)

They grow really well considering I'm a noob. They drink a lot of nutrients and no deficiency issues.
No photos with the indica version. That was the most frosty, 60 cm in height. Pulled from her 120g.

Bluestreak- great head high, long lasting, munchees, happyness, sudtle with the onset. Smelled fruity.

Lemen skunk- amazing hard nugs dank smell dripping with terps

Amnesia-still early but looks to be the best thus far. Light feeder, shocks easily.

Wait, did I read that correctly?
You were able to pull about 7.75oz from one Auto?
And 6oz from another Auto?

I pulled 30 grams of dried bud from my first plant and the second one is still drying. I also got 20 grams of shitty bud that wasnt worth trimming that I ran into oil, and from my second one I have 14 grams to run.
what's your avg returns on bottom buds?

Over a shit load of iso runs I usually get about 8.2%-9.7% return being my highest return. On my last run of oil I used acetone to decrease on evaporation time and was left with an even 11% return. This batch is a bit dirtier than what I usually pull, so I would say that's maybe .7-1% contaminant by weight. It still dabs fine; doesn't sizzle. I can use it in my vape pen too so so it's good enough for me, just a little green.

The acetone is a bit different than IPA. Next time I try I will go for a much shorter wash time and have a my Buchner at the ready. This time, I was being a dipshit and almost shook a jar full of acetone and buds that had a rubber seal on the lid. Thankful, I stopped in time and just stirred. However, my blunder costed me precious seconds where the acetone could pick up chlorophyll and what not. When I was waiting for my shit to evap, I put some acetone on the seal in question and sure shootin' it melted away the rubber.
