ok this is the deal i have a hydro ebb and flow set up going and things are looking pretty good for a first time i need to know a safe way to flush the salts from the hydroton and i dont have a ppm meter yet so i have to kinda go with safe and not wasteful method so my girls will stay healthy i have noticed the white residue after the hydroton dries out so i know the salts are gonna eventually be a hassle. I flush and rinse the reservoir every week and this week i flushed the flood table out with five gallons of clean ph adjusted water i have good well water that is pretty much 7.5-8.0 dont have to worry about chlorine or any the city additives i live close to a clean country river so water doesnt get much better than that as nature does her thing. Anyway i use technaflora nutes and follow their recipe to the letter and all seems to be going well i have had a few errors but nothing to major. So anyone here with suggestion on keeping the salt at an acceptable level and staying within a pretty tight budget please reply Thanks

so first grow, just picked up these babys saturday, transplanted from 6" pots to the 1 GAL pots last night, I watered. my question is,

The one on the left is "Blue Cheese"

Right-OG KushXChem Dog=OGKUSH#18

1. When should I feed..
2. Any recommandations on Nutes?

Ps..

There under a 2ft 4 bulb T5(all grow bulbs) and 4 cfls.. 2 grow... 2 bloom. Then flower time will be the same lights with a 150 hps.. Idk the bulbs I will use in the T5 when I flower yet, prolly2&2.

The cotyledons are yellow and brown on some of my 2.5 week old seedlings. What could be the cause of this?

Could it be caused by overwatering? Or watering with tap water? I have fixed both these problems just recently but I want to know if that could have been what caused the damage. If so will it be cured now that i've changed it

Hi y'all serious first time grower here, and would not b half as far as I am now if wasn't for some of the greats here at rollitup. So first and formoast big thanks to those guys. But I'm almoast 3 to 4 weeks in from seed. Indoor small closet grow about 9 cfls(6 26w,2 42w, and 2 blue 27w the rest r soft white)out of the 10 bagseeds I started, I'm down to 5 plants.just switched the lights from 18/6 to 24/0. My question. If I keep it like that for about two weeks, when I switch back to 18/6 will it start to flower?Big thnks again much appretiated. CROP TIL YA DROP

Could be... Depends on the quality of your tap water. Over watering can cause root issues that will show in the leaves. Being that you are 20 days removed from planting I wouldn't think the condition of your cotyledon would be a concern anyway. You should have plenty of other leaves.

Plants flower indoors when there is more darkness present than light. So no, they will not flower when you go to 18/6 unless they are auto-flowering (in which case that'd be a silly question to ask). They may, however, pre-flower and show their sex by that point. Most of my male plants generally show there boy parts somewhere around the 10th to 12th nodes, week 5ish of life.

I'm on day 17, and I only have four other leaves. Well the third set of leave is coming it and its about half way there on all of them. How many leaves should I have?

Anyways, our water is about pH 7.5, they are always saying its pretty clean water compared to most other cities. So you think its overwatering? If i water less frequently will that fix the problem or is the damage already done?

Also, i've got some 3 day old OG Kush seedlings and I want to know if I should do my first watering by pouring water in there like normal or if I should use the spray bottle to mist the top of the soil? I used the spray bottle for the first watering with my seedlings I have going now, but I got a lot of people telling me the spray bottle was a bad idea because it wasn't penetrating deep enough. I'm not watering them today but I probably will have to in 2-3 days. I wanna be careful not to overwater the OG kush like I have with these bagseeds.

Yours are a little further along than mine but it looks like mine will be able to catch up given that yours are 4-5 days ahead. Thanks, man. I appreciate you posting the picture, it gave me some reassurance that maybe mine aren't as behind schedule as I thought.

can you help me understand why nobody answers my thread? Did I put it in the wrong place? Did I not follow a certain protocol?
I'm learning (reading reading reading) and have somewhat educated questions..

I personally like the Fox Farms Line up. I start my veg nutes once I see a very very minor Nitrogen Def. Depending on your soil you may not have to feed veg nutes at all.

So I cant remember the formula to figure out how much micro and bloom to add for the early stages. I have a 38 quart res that I am using and the only formulas/ratios i can find are with the grow, micro, and bloom. I do not use the grow though because there is plenty of N in the micro so its just a pointless chem add that I dont use. Please help.

Early stage for a 38 quart res = ?ml micro and ?ml bloom

Thanks

so far i have had success with doing 1/4th strength for the first week of veg then 1/2 strength and then full strength from then on IMAG0078.jpgIMAG0079.jpg
these ladies are 3 weeks old and just started full strength nute i use technaflora nutes and they seem to be workin well and they aren't that hard to mix up in the res.
