Hello all I'm thinking of putting together a Hash workshop, I'm not sure of all the details yet just trying to put it out there to see if anyone would be in to it. It could maybe be a 2 day thing day one Hash day two Concentrates yo;d have the choice to attend both days or just one, I'd have professional extract artist that do this for a living in California and other part of the country. I'd also be interested in any ideas others may have to make this a killer event

Depend on where I get the most Interest but most likely Toronto ON, or maybe Vancouver or somewhere out west but I would like it to be Toronto but again if theres enough interest we could do it at more then one location. The professional is not me lol in case you were wondering. I'm in talks now with one Hashish maker thats been all around the world and has experienced first hand most of the traditional methods of making Hashish as well as the new, I'm very excited I hope I can get some more interest. Thank you for your interest I will keep this updated the best I can

This will be a lecture along with on hand lesson from a master, we will actually be making Hashish. This will be a small workshop that way everyone gets a one on one chance to ask questions and discuss the topic at hand

How does someone qualify as a PROFESSIONAL hash maker?
Do they need a certificate from the Guild of Hash Producers or something...?
Or can they just be some Californian who calls himself a PROFESSIONAL HASH MAKER because he's been unemployed since the first REAGAN administration?

No point coming to B.C. I personally know dozens of expert/professional hash and or concentrate makers my self included. Keep it back east they need all the help they can get.

cheers Itsme.

  • There are some good tutorials on hash making on Youtube. I use a blender and some silk screen.

Using methods like this you end up with a lot of plant matter in your hash since you break it down so fine.

Im not in the medical loop so i dont know how many people are out there that would attend but i have a feeling its slim. Im also pretty sure any concentrate/extract/edible/whatever is illegal under HC rules. I could be wrong on this but i remember a case being won in BC (i think) for a guy who needed to use edibles over smoking. As well as all the info you need to know about making hash/concentrates is very expansive already and is also free. So what else do you bring to the table then a self-proclaimed hash professional who might soak her bud in ISO for 20seconds rather than the 15seconds i soak mine for.

Almost any other concentrate done with practice and skill would yeild a higher percentage of THC/Cannibinoids than traditional Moroccan or afgan hash. Dont get me wrong the stuff from there is incredible but its still got more plant matter in it. Grab some bubble bags and make some ice water hash and compare it to yours under a microscope.
Im not trying to be a dick so dont take it that way, and im sure your hash done your way is still very good but there is a lot of other ways to make better hash.

Dont believe the hype bro. The only reason hash made on this side of the world may be more potent is because the raw material is more potent. They've been making hash for century's over there, do you really think we are more skilled?

Not to be a dick but I'm guessing you've never used a blender and some silkscreen because its essentially the exact same process as bubble bags. Except its way faster, yields better and cheaper. I sold my bubble bags a long time ago.

Standard silkscreen is 123 lines/inch which is roughly the same as the finest screen in 5 bag set. Use new screen only.

You need a large stainless bowl roughly 3 times the capacity of the blender.

Secure the screen over the bowl. Allow the screen to sag a little.

Load your blender half full of bud/trim, whatever your using, then fill with cold water and a couple ice cubes. Blend for 30-45 seconds.

Pour the contents of the blender into the screen then fill the blender with water again and pour that water over the contents in the screen.

Remove the material from the screen and put it aside for second run.

Let the mix in the bowl settle for about half an hour. By then the trichs will have sunken to bottom and any plant matter that made it through the screen will be floating on top.

Scoop out anything on top then siphon off the water. Allow the trichs to dry, if you have alot you may want to use the oven. Its important you remove the moisture to prevent mold.

Once dry you can consolidate buy using heat or pressure or both. Using heat gives you black (gold seal) using just pressure gives you blonde.

I apologize redi for jumping to conclusions. I thought you were just putting dry buds into a blender and turning it on then doing a dry shake over a screen. Would it not be better/faster to use a larger screen size like cheese cloth for your first strain(straining of product) and then use a 110micron or less for your next one and just collect whats left in the 110. no need to evap/siphon off as much water. I still dont like the idea of sharp blender blades hitting the buds and breaking them up as much, you could use a dough hook for a hand mixer/stand mixer but its pretty much the same as using bubble bags with more work.

Using a larger screen (cheese cloth) would allow more plant material through that would just need to be removed anyways?..

The reason it yields better than bubblebags is because the material gets well broken down, then all the trichs that are trapped in the ice/pulp are rinsed through the screen.

The first time I tried this method, I used more ice, as much as I could fit. I ran all my material through once and sat it aside for a second run. By the time I was ready to run it again, the ice had melted and all the trichs that were trapped in the ice had settled to the bottom. Easily a third of what the first run yielded.

The water is your friend in this operation and even if your using bubblebags you still need to dry the collected trichs.

Stop doubting and try it...
