Why are my timers getting blown?

I am running 4K plus some smaller lights for mothers/clones.

I have 3HPS (flower) and 1MH (veg), all 1000s. One of my HPS, the newest and nicest one ironically, keeps burning out timers.

Light --> ballast --> outlet

This is my current set up as it typical of any light arrangement.

I have tried putting a timer between the ballast and outlet and between the light and ballast and the minute I plug it in I get a spark and the timer goes dead--obviously fried.

I have lost a cheap 15 dollar heavy duty 15amp typical timer that you see all over the place and most people use. The white one with the green/red on/off. I also lost a $30 nice digital timer (my preference for sure).

I figured it might be that the circuit is overloaded. I am running only a CFM 430 fan on the same circuit I with 15amp breaker so I don't think that should be the issue?

I just wanted to see what people thought my issue might be. If I can't get it fixed I will be forced to move this light into my veg room and buy another one for this room, but I don't see why I should have to do that.

Thoughts oh wise growers?

The problem is either with the light/ballast or the outlet itself. Have you tried a different HPS on that outlet? Have you tried your trouble HPS on a different outlet? Can you return the HPS for a new one?
