Why are Things Growing so Slow?

I have a 6-pod aerogarden with two 24w bulbs T-ed inside the hood and a 50w bulb on the side with something to reflect the light back in. The temperatures are a steady 78 degrees and the humidity a steady 60%. I also have a 4" airstone with pump. This is all with basic bagseed.

The problem is the length of time it's taking to grow. I remember when I grew outside my plant would literally grow 1/2" or more a day. Right now this plant is at a snail pace. Here's a pic: It's I think day 4 now.

You are using an aerogarden, they stink
If you are stuck using it than you should add another air pump and two airstones to the rez
It sounds like the roots aren't getting enough o2
Are there any nutes in the rez?

Well, I already have one airstone with an external pump. I haven't done any nutrients yet since it is so soon. I'm wondering if they are getting enough water. I'm not sure if these foam rollers are absorbing enough water. I ordered a three nute set and some more grow sponges so I guess we will see if they make a difference at all.

They should have at least 1/4 strength nutes man
I hit my seedlings with a 1/4 strength mix as soon as they pop
That is why it is going so slow
I would mix up a 1/4 of what the aerogarden nutes say to use at this point

They stink, thats your own opinion idk what your experience was with the AG if you even had one, but it's obviously good for small personal growing which is why there's a whole sub thread for it. I got 1.5oz off 1 plant in the aerogarden with a total of 3, so if you think a quarter-pound coming out of a AG is bad then i need to learn how your growing =p and i'm not trying to be rude just pointing that out.

Some possible reasons are well your using bagseed so you have no idea what your workin with, they could be bad seeds or any kind of strain for that matter however you can successfully grow bagseeds it's just luck of the draw with em. Other than that in the hydro systems it usually takes a good 2-3 weeks for them to start getting some good growth on em. So I'd say just keep waiting and your patience will be rewarded

You can make a bigger DWC system with a larger rez, stronger air pump, and more room for more plants.
If you are into wasting money that's your own thing man, I would rather get better than the AG results without spending as much money
There is an entire forum for DWC, not just a sub forum. Make your own DWC system and you will be kicking yourself for ever buying that piece of crap

It's more convenient to just buy something and grow right away..just my opinion, but i think this guys problem is the fact that it's bagseed.

Lol I'm a noob because I tried helping him, where did i say you can't grow good from bagseed, nowhere, so take your hostility elsewhere by calling me a "noob", and ya it's most likely bad genetics because it's BAGSEED, you don't know any strain wheather it's sativa or indica dominant, wheather the seeds are EVEN viable to begin with, great you grew a nice plant from bagseed you want a high five? Sorry I'd rather buy good seeds with good genetics so I don't waste my time with bullshit bagseeds.

And who are you to classify anyone as a noob, by no means are you any kind of expert grower, especially if you think I'm a novice grower because i said it's prolly because it's a bagseed, which is most likely the case, Your plants well you got very very lucky and picked the right bagseed to use, BAGSEEDS ARE FOR NOOBS TO USE SO THEY DON'T FUCK UP, or if your that cheap and can't spend the 20 bucks on real seeds with good genetics like obviously your cheap ass does, maybe you should go threw these boards and look at other bagseed grows besides your own and see just how "successful" everyone is with them lol your a disgrace to this growing community, maybe you should go read the growFAQ because you obviously have no clue what your talking about, you have yet to give any advice or knowledge why his seeds are slow to grow and your calling me a begginer, all you've done in this thread is diss the AG, congrats man are you happy that you've helped absolutely no one with any of your comments?

Your problem is probably bad genetics for using a shitty BAGSEED.

And don't feed them anything the first two weeks besides water, obviously this guy is an idiot telling you to use 1/4 and 1/2 strength nutes when they first pop up unless your trying to burn your plants by all means go ahead and do that, they don't need any nutrients the first two weeks as they have all they need from the first set of round leaves at the bottom which contains all the food and nutrients the plant needs, after 2 weeks then you can feed em otherwise DON'T, otherwise your just risking stressing and killing your plant, and I'm the noob haha telling people to feed the plant right when it pops up ya sure if your using organics feed em from the start but if your using chemical fertilizers your likely to burn the fuck out of your plant.

Make your own decision who you listen to, I suggest 1/4 strength nutes right now
See how his are stretched and ugly looking? That is because he does not know how to properly feed a plant.
Do you see how mine is short bushy and a lush color green? That is because I know how to properly feed a plant.

Well, one ended up dieing and I pulled that small one in the picture apart and it ended up not popping the see off. Meaning the see was in the sponge and growing inside the seed rather than sprouting out. I just received my nut/sponge kit in the mail and started a new grow with 4 plants. We will see how this one works out with real sponges and nutes at 1/4. It even says on the bottle that the nutes should be at 1/4 for seedlings, for whatever that is worth.

I do have to say that the AG is pretty costly for the yield...but for lazy bums like myself that just wanna see if i can even grow anything at all lol its has been worth the budget. I will say that as i am getting hooked on this i will probably end up building my own system eventually for higher yield.

but for right now the AG is cool enough..get me 2 more grows in first so i can get the growing thing down b4 i go building $hit. plus a good HID cost $$$ too

and you did need nutes...prolly a ph issue too (that was my issue at 1st)

So just a little update: I completely trashed the other grow, threw in the new nutrient mix(1/4), and stared using the grow sponges. Now everything is working great. The plants are growing really fast and after 3 days they are already up to around 1.5".

i have an AG growing one silver haze auto. its been 3 weeks but only grew 2.5 inches. what could be wrong. it looks healthy as hell but very small. i have tent , air stone , plenty of full spectrum light weekly feeding schedule fox farm trio.temps in the 90's lately. i use superthrive and rhizotonic. its pretty but real slow. what should i do?
