Why did the top buds turn yellow

Help

Looks like light bleaching or a sudden and serious iron deficiency but I'm betting on the light.

Hey yes it definitely is the light i have 1000 hps in a cool tube with ac air running thru it so mild temp air running thru due to space issues the light is 2 feet away do you know if this will affect the whole plant or just the top buds not everything is bleached just the tips will the potency for the rest of the plant be ok

The rest of the plant and it's yield/potency will be OK. Some growers snip off the tops of buds half way through flowering so they grow more like balls and work better in big trimming machines so you've effectively done that to some by burning the tips.

Two feet ought to be far enough but obviously isn't for the taller ones so if possible bend them out of the way or even roll the stem below the colas so they get soft and let the tops fall over. Even if the stems break open the tops will still grow fine if not better as long as you don't snap them and the fibers inside the stem are still connected as they carry the fluids up to the colas. I just did a few of mine last night that were getting obvious signs of bleaching and I have a light mover going. With 2 - 400w hps in that small hood I think I'm getting too much light so may just swap out one for a 150w standard hps to give lots of extra red to go with the Hortilux Super HPS bulb. Only about 7-8 square feet of area to be covered so that's about 100-114W/sqft when 70 or 80 is lots. The hood only moves 30 inches so the middle third is constantly under full light and that's where most of the bleaching is happening.

Can you raise the light any further? Another 6" and things should be OK.

You are over watering like a mad man and the minerals are burning if they are getting in there at all stop watering. Sorry too say it's done and all those bloated leaves are going to string up like beans and more flower leaf tips will burn... don't kill yourself on fixing them either cut of the bad meat in a few days or cut your loss and go again... stop watering

Is there a name for that technique? When you say the top of the buds, could you be more specific?

Bud topping? I'm not sure. I did it to half my buds about a year ago and they did seem to be rounder than the ones that were left alone but as I was hand trimming it didn't really interest me. Now that I have a small Trimpro trimmer I should maybe try it again. You just snip off the growing tip of the bud so it stops growing vertical and fattens up. Wasn't a huge difference and I bust up all the colas to individual buds anyhow.

Where branches come out of the Stalk, cut the stalk above there ... look online and U will find specific information even on you tube.

I say light beaching also bc I've had it happen to me , I use the same bulb.

Hey everyone im not sure what exactly happened but a couple weeks after bending and setting them up a farther from the light a little bit the bleached bud is no longer yellow its normal the only thing is the leaf stayed yellow

Yes i definitely was i think that was the only big problem my new babys rock wool got watered once a week and they are perfect i wish i would of known

2 feet should be fine, that shouldnt bleach the buds from lights being to close. mine are 18 inches and havent done that here checkem, they are small cause i only vegged for 6 weeks from cuttings.
