Why do you guys think some herb makes you INSTANTLY need to shit??

Sorry about the kind of gross topic, but it is something we've all dealt with, or most of us anyway. I've talked with several people about it, and they have had the same experience. Waking up and hitting some seriously good medicine, and it sending you straight to the toilet, within 20 seconds.

My actual inquiry into this subject is serious. Do you guys think this is caused by straining to hold hits in? Do you think it is a biological function related to smoking in general (If so, why do morning cigarettes not have the same effect?)

What I'm getting to...Has THC or CBD been shown to have effects on the digestive tracts? I've noticed it happens with very strong strains that are high in both CBD and THC, such as Headband Kush.

Obviously, you will find just about every medical ailment treatable with cannabis according to some people, but is there any solid evidence linking the cannabinoids to digestive function?

I know coffee in the morning causes it for me, but never weed. Maybe you found a new benefit in a specific strain you are smoking? We'll call it the brown bomber. lol

HA HA! Now I know why I accepted your friend request.

This is something that effects me for sure. Every hit I have, if it's a fresh hit, that I come up on makes me need a shit. Even if I've already had a shit that day, hell even that hour. There's a history in my family of irritable bowel syndrome, and I used to suffer from it. Until I started using marijuana every day. Now I feel my whole digestive system is more relaxed. Many of the symptoms the mainstream try to report as withdrawal symptoms of cannabis are usually the body returning to a state of maladjustment that marijuana use had fixed - certainly the case with my IBS.

Coffee in the morning usually does the trick for me, 10-15mins later time to drop a duece.. Never heard of any strains making someone want to poop, but then again, anything is possible..

I usually get stuck on the toilet if I had a good wake & bake session, stuck zoning out on the toilet, thinking about how funny it is pushing this crap out.. lol

I would bet that it's about the deep inhaling and breathing moving the intestines and stomach not to mention the need to go..

It's crazy that you said that, I definitely have IBS....Not a full blown case, but if I don't take some form of Calcium for fiber (Usually FiberCon) and eat a shit load of fruits and vegetables, I get horrible intestinal cramps. And it is the worst feeling in the world, the nerves that signal pain are connected to your dick and it is seriously something you never want to feel. I was terrified that I had kidney stones, until I realized that it was my intestines causing the pain. I wonder if having intestinal issues has anything to do with it? I'm really surprised that more people haven't had this effect, maybe they aren't smoking that KILL.....That SYTTC Kush (Send You To The Crapper Kush)

Most people tend to have a morning bowel movement and it of course could be accelerated by the relaxation of the sytem including ones colon as the THC and CBD could be very helpful to one with irritable bowel syndrome or chrohns disease .

An amusing turn of phrase considering the only related issues I can find from a cursory glance through my 'Science of marijuana' books is the use of cannabis in treating diarrhoea. Sort of the opposite of solid evidence. LOL

If im close to the point of needing to go, yes, i would say that mj and tobacco both seem to accelerate the process, but not always, mainly in the morning or night, im pretty regular haha

I have this happen to me as well after I smoke on some couch lock mj. I think it probably has to do with the total relaxation of muscles in the body. Idk at least thats my 2 cents. Lol interesting topic though. Keep em flowing :P
