I am about a week from harvesting and i have seen a few bananas in the garden!! wtf is going on? they are all clones and i have been really careful about light leaks and everything. why would this happen? how long does it take for seeds to develop? i pulled off any male flowers i have found and the ones i did find were far from opening, but this is so stupid!! i dont see how this has happened, any ideas?

i have the same problem as you on my aurora that is 9 weeks today. i noticed the bananas at around 8 weeks. so far they haven't opened up and i'm gonna start the harvest tomorrow. some of the plants have another week to go though. i have asked about this problem a couple of times wondering if i need fear seeds this late in flowering but never got much of an answer. it would seem to me that on a 9 week strain that if they didn't show up until week 7 or after that would not leave enough time for seeds to develop. however this is my first grow and i'm not sure. i guess this is not uncommon.

I also have the same problem on1 of mine, 5 weeks in and 4 more to go and I find 2 lower branches with Bananas, I removed them carefully and have not seen anymore since, it'a been almost 2 weeks now and I'm letin em finish. a few seeds would be ok to me. good bud = good seed=good budbongsmilie

could be in the genetics even if they were clones. if there aren't a lot of seeds, some pollen could have found it's way in to the room also. Pollen can get a lot further that people think sometimes. Was the light schedule screwed up at any point? (light stressing can cause hermies as well, not just light leaks) How long have they been flowering? female plants are capable of producing their own seeds if left in flower a couple weeks longer than they need to finish.

still not really an answer as no one has said they have seeds..... just bananas and wondering how long before we will have seeds or if we even need worry this late in flowering?

from my experiences any tiny bit of stress during the near end of flowering can result in pods, their purpose is to obviously pollinate the female in one last attempt to keep her genetics alive by producing seeds, remove these banana shaped pods carefully, to not open them up and spread the pollen. This pollen contained in the pods can produce feminized seeds on ur other plants.. About the only upside...
anyways good luck :leaf:

Heat stress light stress under watering over watering , to much nitrogen during flowering genetics letting them go past the maturity stage can all play a roll in a female producing bananas.

thanks a lot guys. i am no amateur, and this is coming as a huge surprise to me, as this was one of the last problems i have foreseen. luckily harvest is beginning asap. maybe i cut off a few too many lower branches in flowering, because other than that, there have been no light leaks, the schedule has been fine, the temps have been fine, and the plants healthy. this sucks!

If you do get any seeds, they will be very immature, small and white. The little naners you've seen so far, are more than capable of pollinating. It only takes one pollen grain to do it. Each naner produces millions of pollen grains. at 10 weeks, your ladies have put on the majority of their weight and have been storing resin in the bracts. Let them ripen up, chop-chop, and just look out for the little white beans while your stuffin one. Theres not much you can do. good luck
