Why is RO water better then tap water?

usually tap water has a higher base ppm. mine is 350 ppm. this means that there are about 340 ppms of contaminants. whether they be chlorine or other purifying agents put in the water who knows, but you don't want it. RO water has a base ppm of about 10.

starting with a lower ppm also gives you more room to mess with your nutrients. basically it gives you the ability to really tune in on your nutrients because you know whats in your water. i use RO water and would never go back, but that's because my tap water blows..

Its like the water equivalent to a carbon filter for air. It removes almost all the impurities. If you use RO water you need to compensate for some of the stuff that you are losing with the reverse osmosis like calcium and magnesium or you will get a def.

Its definitely better for your plants. Less impurities in the water..most of the 350 ppm worth in tap water is stuff the plant wont use, or is toxic to the plant (but too low level in most places to outright kill it)

IF you can afford it do it. It also makes fantastic drinking water.

You dont need to WASTE money on ro water. I used ro for a long time. I got tired of the waste so I installed a water filter system in my house. 3 filters ,a sediment, then charchol, then anouther sediment filter. My water comes out of the filter about 260ppm's, makes great tasting coffee, and my plants grow just the same as when I was using the ro.

I think basically if you have to ask, you dont need ro water lol.

Like the only people that need ro water, are the ones that want to know what every single ppm is. they try to get it to 0 ppm, then add their nute recipe to bring it up to the desired level.

Its just another variable. And some people are happy to let the plant sort out these variables (like myself, i live by K.I.S.S).
Some people like to control every variable...i mean thats what hydroponics and indoor growing is supposed to be about...controlling environmental variables.
