Spend the extra 30 dollars and get the 400w HPS
You will need some extra ventilation to take care of the added heat I hope you know

how much would it cost to add decent ventilation?
just attatch a small fan near the ballast, or have one pointed at th ballast. thats y i posted this because some come with some kind housing that keeps the ballast somewhat cool, though the one here doesnt seem to have that

You don't need a fan pointed at the ballast at all,, you need an exhaust fan pulling hot air from the grow room and another in-let fan bringing in cool air.

iv been looking around for the best price on a new light (upgrading from cfls to hps) and i found this but it seems way to cheap for a 400w right? something seems screwy to me, but theres also this 150w hps http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=53025 is this a reasonable price?
Definitely go with a 400 watt system.

$99.99 is a good price, but it is a refurbished ballast.

HTG has a 400 watt system for $119.95

Good luck and good growing.

if its just for two plants, (im lookn for an oz each) would the 150 be alright? i understand that the more light the better, but with the 150 would i be able to meet my goals?

150 watts HPS would accommodate two plants.

The problem is that growing is addictive. The better you get as you gain experience, the more you want to grow. It's practically involuntary. Eventually you reach a saturation point where the system is pretty much where you like to have it; where your harvest needs are met completely - on a regular and consistent basis. But you'll never stop tweaking, upgrading, and experimenting.

For just a few dollars more you could have a light with more opportunity to expand when you are ready.

If you had no intention of purchasing online, why did you link to the online grow systems asking about them? :wall:

I was under the impression you were considering one or the other but apparently you intended to purchase a 150 watt hps from a brick & mortar source all along. :cuss:
