Why is it every book written on growing is there not a chapter or even a page on topping?? I just got Jorge Cervantes' new book Marijuana grow basics. And not one page on fimming or topping. :wall: I really dont get this. But the book is very informative. I am on my second grow. First one didnt end so well. But I got some beauties this time around. KC Brains Brazil x KC and Nirvana's Papaya. Just would like to know if you can top during flowering. I am about 4 to 6 weeks from harvest.

IMO i would not recommend it, also 90% of the best people in the business for growing weed, ( THE DUTCH ) dont top.

topping doesn't increase growth it only slows it down. as for yield, there's still no proof that topping produces more bud than natural growth. LST/Scrog on the other hand...

Your ''1'' top untopped cone will 99% of the times be far greater in all ways than the ''2'' you get if topping, Fact !

With a good fim and some LST you can really fill out your canopy in s(cr)og way better than an untopped plant. If you have many plants this can get messy. But if you have a little longer veg times you can decrease the amount of plants you have and get more bud in less space. This is good for medical growers who are limited to certain numbers of plants. Side by side there may not be a significant increase in bud production for the same size plant but it is easier to fill out a canopy with a fimmed plant and production can be increased, especially with overhead HID. It isn't for everyone but I believe it is a valuable technique in certain situations and there's no reason one shouldn't know how to do it. A little experimentation is fun too.

no point topping a plant thats already in flower, it's something to do in the early stages of veg.

I've done it and i prefer plants not topped tbh
