bcoz work brings in more money than growing. it pays the bills, it allows ppl to grow. where are u supposed to get ur money from?

if i quit my job to grow full time then id miss out on money. id have more chance of getting caught, more chance of going to jail and i wouldnt be to hide it all.

lots of reasons. i think most ppl on this site grow for a hobby

personally, i'm not a drug dealer. i work because that's what you do for money. i got a homie that just slangs. his life is great on the outside, but it's way more stressful, and he has to be really discreet about it. there are people that wanna rob his weed, or rob his cash, or rob his big tv, or take over his customers, or arrest him, or turn him in for reward money, or use his prosecution to further their careers, or use his sentencing to promote political/judicial change, and even some of those brainwashed meatbags who would turn him over because it makes them feel like a good citizen.

the first thing adults usually ask you when you meet each other is "what do you do?" I always tell everyone I'm a full time space cadet, but the reality of life is that what you choose to do with your life defines who you are, it shows what you are truly about, not just what you portray yourself to be.

so you were obviously highly educated, yet you decided to go with a restaurant business? I've known many people over the years who've opened restaurants, from sno-cone huts to posh sushi bars, and I currently know ONE successful restaurateur. He has a nice place in INDIA, catering to wealthy business types.

I guess ya gotta follow your calling. Sorry it didnt work out for ya.

everyone knows someone who trys to just grow/sell for a living, and they tend to be shady people because they are always watching there back for everything.i knew this guy who was sellin for years and dealt to an undercover cop for like 8months and then raided his house,he was a jailbyrd but he got parolled recently and he wont beable to get a job so he will have to sell for a living.

in plain sight its not worth the risk to grow for a living, everyone looks at the glamour of growing/sellin for a living but they never see the risk.its not worth the risk,a real job is the way to go,u get benifits,u get money back from taxes and u develop a retirement plan.

if i were to grow for a living than i wouldnt beable to see friends and shit. im goin to college for nursing and its a well paying job,its like 250000 a year, and if i go for my doctorine than ill be rollin in the munay and i will beable to afford everything and it will be legal and i will have a great life.

im 19 and i hate my job but i can see the benifits of growing/selling but the risk is not worth the reward. hardwork is the key to success.

There isn't many growers I know that do it commercially that haven't been caught or very nearly caught at some point or another - all have lost serious amounts of money at some point or another from busts or robberies etc. If your not physically fit enough to run a restaurant's I wouldn't even consider growing commercially, especially if your nt already in a circle of people who already do it. If you do decide to go for it best piece of advice I'd offer is find one person you completely trust to sell / distribute.

Also as the saying goes if you can't do the time, don't do the crime - you don't sound like your at a stage in your life that you'd feel comfortable in jail.

As much as I love growing, I would not revolve my life around it, yet... perhaps when I retire I'll be a ganja farmer. Until then, I love the sky, and the sky loves me... I cannot part with her. :eyesmoke:

Dagobaker - You can actually make a decent living growing medi-juana in those states that allow it.
New to the program (Montana) . . . Based on one client needing only one z a month, a guy/gal makes $3600-$5000 per year, minus expenses. That's for maintaining six plants.
So 10-20 clients, we're talking acceptable money. The "main" dude here has 84 clients . . . 500 plants! He's opening a dispensary.
Prior to this, I played in bands for 30 years, so never really had to face reality.
All in all, it's not unusual for me to sorta wish I'd taken the easy way out and simply worked at something "normal" my entire career, but then I realize how unhappy many people are in their mundane, monotonous lives and how many of them wish/dream of being in the same boat I'm clinging to. It ain't easy living free.

i'm retired and grow outdoors but i only grow what i smoke. it would be to much of a hassle to handle 300 plants. escpecially if it for medi-use!! 4-5 plants at a time for me, anymore and it would be work!~!!!

Yes, it'd be a lot of work, but not if you consider it'd be your only job. I mean, a couple hours a day sure beats 8. It's a lot of work when it's for free, but not so much when you're actually getting paid a decent return.
I mean, i just finished 16 for stash upstairs, and have no water up there.
THAT'S work, but I gotta hell of a stash.

staying at home is boring, i don't work right now but i go to school full time. I can't imagine sitting at home every single day. being out in the world is fun, you meet new people and learn new things.

iif you wanna grow for a living i think the best retirement plan would be to save up 100-250 grand and go buy some land in south america and open up a bar/whore house

Yes. It's very hard to learn how to stay home 24.7. Dead serious. It's also a sign that one has grown up/old, unfortunately . . . 24/7 being the variable. Once the depression passes, if ever, it's not so bad!
Probably no worse than folks feel after years of going to the same place to see the same people day after day.

any1 can grow more than any1 can earn in a job. fact is its illegal in most places and ur gonna get caught. so i doubt any1 will earn as much as a full time job over, say 5 years.

25k a year x 5 = 125k.

growing how ever many plants over 5 years = 0 because u will probably get caught.

also u wont be learning anything else about the real world and real life. if i had of stayed home growing last year instead of working, i wouldnt of found out how to do my tax returns which has earnt me £2000 (about $4000).

i think ur wrong. do the maths and the probability sums.
