no im not growing medicine. there is nothing wrong with me. i am growing drugs. i am also brewing cider, and thats not medicine either

OK, but does it matter at all to you how your cider tastes, or are you just looking to get drunk, period?

For instance, if just getting drunk is your goal, then there are cheaper and faster ways of getting there than brewing a decent tasting cider. :)

That aside, having good-smelling cannabis can be important, for an even more crucial reason than simple flavor-aesthetics;
the flavor and scent components in cannabis are produced by an array of over 120 terpenes/oids, many of which are responsible
for a -huge- amount of the sensations and effects provided by your herb. Some produce euphoria, sedation and narcotic effects
all on their own, others help cannabinoids through the blood brain barrier faster and more effectively, and even others do all of the
above.
Some are also anti-mutagenic/anti-cancer/anti-tumor, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory.... when you remove them, it's guaranteed
that you are decreasing the effectiveness of your herb, regardless whether it's for medicinal or recreational purposes!

For patients, this means fewer components that produce the medicinal benefits they are after.

For recreational users this means it doesn't taste as good, AND it doesn't get them as high!

This is why there is a 'Mango Theory'... it's not just a theory, it's proven fact! Although there are MUCH better sources of myrcene,
that can provide much more noticeable improvements (lemongrass essential oil, hops extract, wild thyme etc, each have gram for
gram, many times the myrcene content as a mango). Myrcene is the chemical that mangoes share with cannabis, which can
contribute to the effects provided by your herb particularly if the myrcene content in the cannabis is low... which is what happens,
when you water-wash herb, by the way. ;)

Many of these chemicals are considered more water-soluble than your cannabinoids, meaning they can be lost much more easily.
And those that aren't very water-soluble, including your cannabinoids, even aside from the entire trichomes you lose, can still
become detached, resulting in not bonded, but rather free-floating cannabinoids along with other crucial components in your waste-
water, to be dumped away during the 'cure'.... which is realistically not quite so much a curing method, as it is a quick-fix flush. :)

This is even a trade-off that occurs in a matter of minutes, when producing hash, with a washing machine.... a longer run produces
more hash, but it's considered to be of a lower grade and flavor than a short wash, due to all those lost terpenes. This is specifically
why people choose to first perform a quick-wash run, allowing them to collect the more flavorful and potent hash, before running
the same plant matter again to claim the remainder of the glandular material. There is more agitation during the hash making process,
but the usual week-long water cure, in order for it to be effective, more than makes up for and even surpasses the amount of loss.

This is all related to your question on drying too fast, by the way. :) Back on topic......

Your herb dries faster once you've removed all these extra beneficial and often resin/oily-textured components (along with the
chlorophyll or contaminants, you were originally attempting to move), because when they are left on the plant matter, they aid
in trapping moisture, and preventing overly-crisped nugs.

Removing them, causes the herb to dry out MUCH more rapidly which is why, along with all the above reasons, the standard
water-cure produces an inferior product when compared to properly grown, properly dried, and properly cured flowers.

Hope this helps clear up the confusion! :D

Nope sorry the plant material is still there.
Yep you flush all the Terpins, chlorophyll, salts......out.
Most of that stuff would be gone with properly grown pot anyway.
But it dose not make it stronger!

Your argument as i see it (is it has less stuff in it so its stronger.)

Its not stronger just because it has less oils and terpins in it.

By your argument I can just dry the shit out of my pot.
And it will be stronger because it has less water in it. Thats just not true!

Oh and some of us like a little smell and taste with our pot.

ounce for ounce, gram for gram, joint for joint, and puff for puff, yes it is.

Oh and some of us like a little smell and taste with our pot.
i know, and some of us couldnt care less.

i dont consider it lower quality. i am not interested in how it smells or tastes.
I guess that makes sense but that's a silly way to look at it in my opinion. Even if it's not lower quality I would still like the act of smoking to be somewhat pleasurable. You can go ahead and think you're the one genius in the bunch if you want, but as far as I see it pretty much everybody air cures for a reason and they're probably telling you water curing doesn't make it stronger for a reason.

I read about water curing and apparently it makes it more potent but not really stronger, it's the same bud you just loose more weight by water curing. Personally I'd just air cure and have a better tasting smoke, it might take a whole other bowl to get to that level of your water cured bud but you'll have more bud anyways so I don't see a difference. You have sparked my curiosity however and I'm probably gonna try to water cure one of these days.

basically, it tastes like smoke. I prefer my smoke to be smoother, so in that way it is more pleasurable.

I'm aware that the rest of you sophisticated types are far more discerning with your rememdium. Good for you

UR GROWING MEDICINE NOT DRUGS GET IT RIGHT....cannabis is not a drug its and all natural herb and very good medication!!!!...if u want drugs go to the hood and get some crack, coke,or heroin hell go raid ur grandmas bathroom cabinet marijuana is not a drug
o_0

I think a "Medication" is a "drug", besides marijuana is not self harvesting anyway, without human interaction it would not exist in smoke-able form as we know it or prefer it, but I don't think I'd want to associate a plant as a drug/medicine at all, I suppose if your diagnosed or whatnot it would be a preference to call it a medication; however the same people who designated it a medicine or drug (governments) are the same ones producing weapons to kill each other, nuclear bombs, wars, spending 100s millions in confict zones to suit their interests ect.

I'd personally probably just call it a plant more or less =P.

It's my opinion no need to be a condescending douche. As for your question I have no idea why it would dry faster, like somebody else said your drying area must be either warm or really really dry. Which is fine because if I understand water curing right then there's no need for slow drying like with air curing.

there is something wrong you...your a douchebag.....common your the doctor lmao you should have diagnosed this problem already...in a seriousness i would say yes maybe in the early years 50's-70's it was a drug when no significant research was done and no one documented all of the substantial positives that marijuana and its effects has on the human body and all of the MANY diseases that it helps control and prevent...we live in a new era my friend where marijuana is NOT a drug which has been proven and the end of prohibition is near very soon my friend the government and everyone else who looks "down" on it will wake up and see its good and all of is benefits:weed:....
