Will be away for 4 weeks - How to sustain Mother?

I've just run into a slight issue. I'm planning to start my first mother plant soon, and I realized that I'll be away during the summer for 4 weeks. I have no idea how to deal with this. If it matters, I'll be keeping the mother in a PC micro grow box. I don't know what I should do about watering her while I'm away.

Any suggestions? Keep in mind that this is a stealth grow, and asking the other people I live with to water her for me is a no-no.

you could try to set up and automatic drip on a timer, but even thats risky, id be interested in hearing some suggestions but this is a tough spot to be in, best of luck

My suggestion? Don't even deal with it. Wait until you are back from your vacation before setting up a mother plant. Too much can go wrong if you are away for a few days, let alone 4 weeks.

yeah, since you will have to connect them to a water source, ie faucet or such... then a line to the mother. They are not too expensive.. here is one to search on: Raindrip Inc No. R559dp Elec Wtr Timer Kit[h=1][/h]

probably best suggestion yet. Now I believe that you might be able to take a clone and preserve it in the fridge/freezer for possibly 4 weeks... but yeah probably not good either.

u know what i was thinkin that would work good i think dude? get a big rubbermaid tub like the ones u do hydro in, put in a small water pump with a line that runs to yours plants dirt or whatever then put that pump on a timer, so everytime the timer comes on it pumps water in there, u would just have to make sure u have 4 weeks worth ya know..i think that would work relativley simply and not be a HUGE pain in the ass but pokesalot is right, its gonna be sucky either way

I am at one of my grows once a week. I set up a pump in a plastic tote and plastic pipe with 1 gal per hour drippers I got at lowes on a digital timer to go off for 1/2 hour on the day I want it to water the plants. And they get 1/2 gal on that day. You could schedule it and use a plastic tote and with low light you could water it once a week or twice if need be. Careful not to over water though, I did that the first three weeks running the system.. The whole thing was about $60 for 12 plants and works like a charm..

Good suggestions, all of them, so thanks. I don't know what my final decision will be yet. I'll either do the tub thing, or just won't do it at all. Probably the latter, unfortunately.
