Will drying outside/curing inside ruin potency at all?

Hey I was going to dry my budz outside for about a week or so (guerilla grow site), until the strong hay/grass smell is gone, then I was gonna bring em home, and put em in jars for cure.

Anything I should be concerned about? The weather SHOULD be fine. I heard when you dry they have to be in a dark room or else the light will ruin the conversion of the thc. Is this true? Am I better off drying inside?

wow this is weird, i was looking for a thread like this for like ten minutes but couldn't find one so i made my own then we both posted one within 20 minutes of each other.

i think if a little light gets to them they should be alright just not direct sun, personally i dry inside because I need to have the fruits of my labour close to me but I know people who have dried outside with success especially if you have mass quantities, if u have some sort of shed or shelter thing outside it might be best to put the buds hanging in there.

thx blitted. I am thinking about using a tarp and making a little tent to dry them out, pretty ghetto but hey. Just gotta make sure nobody is gonna go up there and see my tarp with tons of lovely buds under it!

i think a tarp would do well, a little breeze will get through which is a good thing. get one of those camo tarps haha hopefully its in a spot where no soul will ever go or see

Drying in the sun is just a diffrent way of drying its just faster and gives it more of a harsher taste then if it is dryed and cured in the dark but the thc level won't realy decrease enough to effect it that much, some people dry the weed in the oven, out side in the sun, in the dark cool room, and even dry ice, but there just diffrent methods.

ahhhg harsher taste = bad, but oh wells I am sure it wont be THAT bad, I am thinking about doing it under a tree any way.

What about in a tent in the shade? Good idea? I was planning on doing this harvest season also..

yeah ive donr it in the pst i just set up 2 tarps next to eachother and tie them down in a tent form.. and then put the buds on a string underneath.. i use camo tarps to make sure people dont see it if they were to walk by.. also ive used tha same spot for 2 years and the 1st yeear i was there i planted young trees where i wanted to cover up places so that disguised it also
