Will I have Ventilation Issues??

Hey fam!!

I finally received my 24x24x48 grow tent in the mail and I had a quick question regarding the location of where my tent would be and possible ventilation issues.

So the tent is inside my closet (see attached photos) and there is about a foot of space between the walls and my passive intakes, along with about 6 feet of space between my exhaust and the ceiling of the closet.

There is about 3 inches of space from the floor to the bottom of my door and the door will be cracked a few inches at all times.

As for my set-up, I will be using a 6 inch inline fan pulling through a carbon filter. I will also be going with a passive intake, opening the rectangular vent on the back and the 6 inch circular vent on the side (remember, about a foot of space between those intakes and the wall). As for light, I'm still deciding between a mars 300w or a 250w cfl with a reflector.

So what do you guys think? Will I be having ventilation issues with this setup? Will my plants be getting enough fresh air through the combined space of both the bottom of the door and the door being cracked?

Thank you guys so much for the help. I plan on ordering my light this weekend and starting the grow next week. Also, if you want to give your opinion on a 250w cfl vs a 300w mars hydro, please feel free to do so :)

Update: I'm having some trouble uploading the photos so I'll get some advice and keep trying as time goes by. Probably has to do with the ddos attack :/

What is the cfm rating of your 6inch inline fans? You may not need the passive, I just let negative pressure do its thing and automatically pull air into the tent through the vents. As far as lights go get the Mars 300 I have four of em and they work good! Just not very efficient for an LED light if you have the money look into cob LEDs more light less power less heat
Happy growing!

If you are looking to go with leds better to go with cobs lighting a lot better than mars or cfl. To many people hacking the mars and putting cobs in them.
If you are not a diy person here are 2 companies that come to mind that have prebuilt lights.

"bottom of the door" and "door cracked open".....you'll be fine, till you're not. monitor your temps and humidity, adjust as needed

Isn't "letting the negative pressure do its thing and automatically pull air into the tent through the vents" a passive intake set-up lol? As of now, I have a 4 inch hydrofarm active air (165 cfm) however I will be purchasing a 6 inch VIVOSUN (400 cfm). The only reason I was thinking CFL over led is the idea of being able to have my plants as close to the light as I want. With a mars hydro, I need to keep a distance of about 18" between the light and canopy correct? I feel like that isn't using the space of my tent efficiently enough.

So you don't think I should have ventilation issues?

Yep that's an intake setup lol I thought I saw you saying you had an intake fan as well when all you need is an exhaust, I've ran my Mars hydro 10" away from canopy without light bleaching, the thing with CFLs is you need alot of em and they get pretty hot and need different spectrums when the Mars has full spectrum and you'd only need the one light if you go with CFL I'd get like 6-8 smaller 24w of different spectrums for side lighting plus your 250w you can already see how much more power you'd be using with CFLs rather than an LED

You shouldn't have ventilation issues tho
Alright cool. And I think I will go with the mars then. It probably as a cheaper total cost as well so that's always a plus. Also, is bleaching even bad? I feel like if it means having an extra 5 inches of vertical space it's a good tradeoff

Haha I'm confused. So I won't be fine? I also plan on installing a small clip on fan in the tent
theres alot of variables here to be able to accurately predict your future issues.
for instance, not the only variable, but the temperature, humidity of the room(s) where your closet is getting fresh air from, lik eunder the door or through the crack, could make all the difference in the world aye?

If the fan is not extracting hot air outside the closet then it will warm up the whole closet and that air will be passively drawn back into the tent, each time it cycles through it will get hotter and very quickly be too hot. Not to mention deplete co2 levels.

Get the mars ive got 6 there wiked mate 2 diffrent settings on mine so it only uses certain bulbs in veg then u flip the bloom button.good results so far lot better than a cfl

Ohh ok I gotcha. Well as of now the room is pretty cold due to winter weather and humidity is probably at a good level. I also plan on having a small clip fan in the tent and will be placing frozen 2 liters in there to help keep temps cool

The only way I could extract the air out my closet would be to run a duct down to the space at the bottom of the door. I live in an apartment so I can't modify my closet in any way. Should extracting the warm air through the bottom of the door work ok?

little fans and frozen bottles of water wont do much when the heat comes, except drip and blow hot humid air, and you really should get a RH meter, thermometer too. Familiarize yourself with prper temps and rh, lots of free grow books/webbies to check out.
Leaving it to guesswork and you'll be back taking advice on how to smoke your moldy bud....we dont want that. a few cheap preventative measures are easily employed. temps/rh/air flow....very important all year 24/7. I didnt plant a seed indoors until I installed ac and a dehuey and never had an issue in the rooms. You might not have issues too, using led's not sure, hid...for sure

I'm familiar with optimal temps and rh. All I have so far is my tent so I obviously have more coming in the mail including a thermometer and rh reader

I'm growing in a 2.5' wide x 6' deep closet with a 400w MH and air can only get in and out through a 1.25" gap under the door. Temps aren't an issue as I have a 7" fan on the floor pulling air in and another blowing through the cool tube from the back of the closet. I'm planning an exhaust under the door so I can run my scrubber soon as I figure out a good way to do that. This is proving to be a difficult task coming up with something that will both stay in place and fit in the gap under the door (half width or less). I feel a ton of Ona gel is in my near future. lol

I was worried before it was all set up. First fan got temps from 96 down to 86. The second fan got temps to drop from 86 to 73 degrees. Moral of the story, don't worry too much about it until you're set up. As long as you can get cooler fresh air in, you should be able to conquer a heat issue with a little work if you even have an issue.

Update:

I ordered a 4 inch hydrofarm active air, a carbon filter, and a mars reflector 48. It should all be here next week and then I'm going to start the grow next weekend
Wait sorry I messed that up lol. I went with the Meizhi Reflector 450w. It was about the same price as the mars 48 however had a much higher actual wattage, 195 vs 98, respectively. This light has the growth/bloom switches as well
