Will it be possible for LP's to Store mass Qty's of MMJ

It seems to be something that sorta ....jumps off the page ,every time I read an article lately pertaining to the mmpr.
How this producer or that producer has 7000kg's of excess produced cannabis, in storage.
To me ...that's seems like an unreal amount to store ...though I do believe that is their numbers...
I have also read that health Canada did not give any guidelines on when mmj would be considered
no longer fresh....so no expiry type of process...

So effectively it would never become stale and would be a salable product regardless of the fact that its medicine as well as a food for some.

I'm sure they(lp's) would not be fool hardy enough to try and sell 3 year old mmj as usable medicine (smoking or vaping form) but more likely as oinment or oils, tinctures...
However...I do not see any type of guarantee, that the mmj they ship is fresh.
With their current market and the huge stockpiles...would they ever have fresh product...and even with selling to the rec market....who would want 3 or 4 year old buds for a huge prices...at the LCBO.

This sort of thing brings up so many questions...and many of those questions end at leaving the quality control decisions in the LP's lap, and we all know that they will always have their decisions swayed by their bottom line.
What questions does the stock piling of lp product...create for you?

Id bet most have been selling their shwags to the lowest bidder out the back door...as for storing...they make oil!!!????
If they were allowed so many grams of dry herb storage,,there's no reg stating how many grams of oil they can have stored.
although, Id suspect they have been selling that off as well if they have the ability to make it.
They could easily sell it to the next LP who is able to sell it for them.

I thought they only had a limit on the amount of production of green cannabis.
but I do not remember ever hearing about ceiling storage amounts but rather just questioning the
storage capacity of a safe of a certain size.
either way...shouldn't all of the product ..require vault storage.
I keep seeing rooms of plastic totes that supposedly contain dried flowers.
I can't imagine this mmj is anything more than dust after 3 or 4 years of storage based on these conditions.
Though maybe freezing after a couple of years is the chosen methodology.

"They could easily sell it to the next LP who is able to sell it for them."

Ya your right good thinking....its sorta a pay it forward scenario so that new members join their club.
Here "you guys can have this 3000kg's of swag...as a starter kit....and try and sell as much of it as possible, as well we need you to provide 2000kg of storage space per contributing member" Plus as a new member you will be eligible for the salesman award program.
This is a competition where each member has been given 3000 kgs of swag meds and then is evaluated on its ability to sell as much of or all of said swag.
There will be awards handed out at the members next annual meetings in april 2016
Just kidding....I think

LP's are only licenced to store so much in their vault.

"A licensed producer may only conduct the activities indicated on their licence. Each licence obtained under the
MMPR will specify the activities authorized to be conducted at the site. Authorized activities can include production, sale or provision, possession, packaging and transportation.

The licence will also indicate:

  • substances that are authorized;
  • maximum quantities of dried marijuana that may be produced, sold or provided;
  • maximum dried marijuana inventory at any given time;
  • security level of the site; and
  • effective date and expiry date of the licence.
In some cases, specific conditions may also be listed on a licence. For more information, visit the Policies, Directives, Guidance and Information Bulletins web page."

And every so often a certain strain that used to be $9-10 a gram gets massively discounted so they can sell it off to make room for new stuff.
Canntrust has a bunch of strains now 50% off and greed just slashed a bunch too.
The thing that puzzles me is they have strains that sell out yet they stockpile the shit that don't sell.
Last thing I read was 7000tonnes but who really knows

There's a few people here at riu that say they store their weed for long terms.
Seen claims of it staying fresh when cured and stored properly.

For sure. 6 months to a year is not unheard of. When I grew the tastiest buds would be in the last few jars I went through....and that be close to a year.

Chuck Rifici said he can store 100,000,000$ worth at Tweed.

LPs get tax exemptions on waste. Yes, even the roots count. From what i was told...
Oh brother...Well not buying it at all is the way to unravel the little plan.
On the roots...fark are we suckers.

The amount LP's can store is directly related to the security level of their vault. It correlates with the value of the contents of the vault. The vaults are kept as cool as a fridge, product will keep fresh a very long time in a cool dark place. Funny how a while back people were complaining their meds were to fresh and not cured. Now you want fresh buds?
You can tell old cannabis by its color, after about a year the chlorophyll breaks down and the bud turn brown, think of the 80's when all we got was brown weed from Mexico or Asia. That's because it was years old by the time we got it.

Itsme.
