By increasing the amount of light you will encourage the hermaphrodite condition. not a good idea

keep your lights at 12/12. if you want more light then add more lights but keep the schedule at 12/12. the more watts of light that you can give the plants in the 12 hours the lights are on is what will make the difference in your yield and overall bud production! so to answer the original question- no, more light won't hurt your buds it will help them. playing around with the schedule is what will hurt your buds!

12/12 is a sure-fire way to make sure your plants flower which is why it is recommended. The fall sun DOES NOT equal 12/12. the amount of day light changes every day. every, every, every day getting a little longer/shorter depending on the season.

it is normally recommended you stick with the circadian rhythm (whatever light cycle you use it should add up to 24 hours) but i have not experimented with any other light cycle during flowering and would be very interested in reading about quality experimentation (control group and double-blind would rule but just trying something other than 12/12 and reporting on it would be cool too!).

Your right that the exact amount changes by minutes. But hes talking about changing it completely and messing with the light cycle. Bad idea. My point is still the same even though you felt the need to try and correct me over something trivial. 12/12 is "generally" supposed to emulate late summer/fall sun.

Keep the light cycle 12/12 unless u got the time and money to play around with or want to make it an experiment. My opinion is you will be hurting your yield big time, and possibly getting stressed out hermies and seeds.

i was not picking on you and in fact backed up what you said. 12/12 is the way to go unless you are experimenting is what, i'm pretty sure, we both are saying :joint:
